Very popular canalside pub which gets very busy at weekends in the summertime. It is really spacious inside and has an equally large menu. The helpings are generous and the quality isn't bad, personal favourites are the fish, chips and mushy peas and the steak and kidney pudding. Service is good for such a large establishment, we like lots of gravy with our steak pudding and when we asked for it they duly obliged with an extra gravy boat on the side without a moments hesitation. For night owls they have a limited late night menu from 11pm to 1am with pizzas, steak and kidney pie etc. It also has a good choice of cask beers. On the downside it can get a bit too busy at times, particularly at Bank Holidays, and the design of the place is a bit twee for a lot of people's taste.
Lovely pub/restaurant adjacent to the canal. Ideal for sunny relaxed weekend or holiday lunch or evening meal. Child friendly with activities nearby, feeding the ducks by the canal is always popular, but just be careful of the water - it would be easy to fall in!
Ample parking, nice ride out for bikers or cyclists.
