I'm reviewing this from an alternative perspective, as THE place to go if you're a new Mum. Not only is mid-afternoon like a buggy parade, but it's the prefect time to catch up with a friend for an afternoon snack/lunch with baby and be able to breast-feed comfortably in the cafe or in their dedicated breast feeding room.
It is pretty expensive to eat there (£5 for sarnie) but the store's overall accommodation for people with buggies - the aisles are wide, plenty of escalators and lifts make shopping and generally hanging out there a very pleasant experience.

John Lewis is the one of the best shopping center you can find here in Edinburgh. High quality and good style and price affordable. The products are really good and gurantee a long life.

John Lewis is always packed with people, and there is certainly a good reason for that. The store is my favourite department store in the area, mainly because it has a HUGE selection of everything from housewares, to fabrics, to handbags and clothes, to stationery and gift items. Basically, it's everything you'd want in a department store. To add to its appeal, it offers high-quality items in a range of prices.

One of the things I find most pleasing about John Lewis is the simplicity of the store's design and the way that items in each department are displayed. It's always easy to find what you're looking for, and items are arranged in a way that makes them appealing to look at. On the rare occasion that you can't immediately see what you want, there are plenty of friendly and knowledgable (but NOT pushy) salespeople around to help and answer questions.

Every department is brilliant, but I think they offer exceptional variety when it comes to fabrics, carpets/rugs, women's accessories and housewares. I also LOVE all of the holiday items and food gift items.

No matter what you're looking for, I can pretty much guarantee that John Lewis will have it in every size, shape and colour!

John Lewis is a huge department store that always has what you need. The toy section is great and the staff are always really helpful. It has loads of concessions such as Warehouse, Jane Norman etc. There are elavators allover the place so it is easy for pushchair and wheelchair users. The cafe serves hot and cold meals and is very reasonable.
