Fabulous pub. Great food. The wild game pie comes with a warning that it might contain bits of shot. Quite exciting to eat, but a bit off putting as worried that it’s going to snap my teeth. The roasts are generous. The pint of prawns comes with Marie Rose sauce and lovely, chunky bread. Can get very busy, so if going on a weekend lunch time be prepared to wait for a while. There are plenty of tables out the front of the pub to sit out in the sunshine, just far away enough from the road to be quiet and pleasant. And as the pub’s situated just in front of Fletcher Moss Gardens, there’s plenty of opportunity to go for a walk before of after you start boozing!

Lamentably in the current climate it's often pot luck whether or not you get a decent Sunday pub lunch. You can always take a punt on the new wave of gastro pubs (and there's a few decent one's in central Manchester) otherwise it's a trip out to deep Cheshire/Lancashire/Derbyshire/Yorkshire if you're less willing to take a chance in the inner city or suburbs.
The Didsbury Pub almost a mile from Didsbury Village heading towards the east of the suburb is an absolute gem. Only a few years back this place had seen better days, but almost overnight this was overhauled by the new management. I'd have to warn that after a certain time on Sunday you might have to wait a while for a table – it gets busy (good sign as always). Fortunately the pub sits right next to the glorious fletcher moss gardens, so nip in to book the next available table (seems to be the way it works), work up an appetite on your green fingered stroll (depending on how far you walk – you can walk alongside the river Mersey for some time) then head back to your now free table.

The landlord is a genius (I think his name is Paul)...can't think of any other way of describing the fella. He constantly shines wonderful laser beams of smiles at every patron who walks past the oak doors (oak is a theme inside – proper oldey forest style country pub – the way I like em!) whilst he organises with 'military precision' tables and customers. He seems to wrangle time and space with his bare hands so you get a seat and are not left disappointed.
The staff employ the same sense of work flow – even if you're sat on a far reaching outdoor table, your order seemingly springs up before you within minutes!

Fantastic range of cask ales and an extensive wine list accompanies a loving menu ( British Beef and Bombardier Ale Pie/British Lamb/Steak/Salmon and so on).
The bombardier pie was delicious with just the right amount of accompanying sides (not too little, not too much).

There is a huge beer garden out front, perfect for watching the Didsbury lot push little 'Archie' and 'Poppy' around in their Porsche, carbon polite three wheeler buggies. A top notch people watching spot.

Highly recommended.

A traditional-style "gastropub" on the quiet end of the didsbury strip.

Amazing food,
Amazing beer,
In a traditional atmosphere.

What more can be said than this charming albeit unimaginative little poem.

The Didsbury Pub is a prominent landmark on the sweeping bend of Wilmslow Road that approaches Didsbury Village. It’s renowned for its sturdy Sunday roasts, grassy beer garden and - speaking from my own and friends' experience - is also popular as a ‘first date’ pub - especially blind internet dates as there's generally plenty of people about as a safety net. Its woody interior, fireplaces and secluded candlelit corners create a soft, unthreatening atmosphere. The staff are also very good with children, so families can easily take their little ones along.

Best meal - Sunday roast!

What a great little pub! Good food, great beer, decent prices, a big car park, a beer garden, great atmosphere, even better decor... what more could you ask for in a pub?

The Disbury is a great pub, situated at the end of Didsbury. It's nicely decorated inside, with loads of old hops hanging from the beams, and candlelit tables. The beers are good and there are always a few real ales on tap. The food is also of a very good standard. You can sit outside in summer and there's a nice view over the green nearby. This is a really nice place to come for an evening on a summer's day, or for a high quality pub lunch.
