Memories, memories memories, a lot has gone down in this place, from my first proper night out to my friend meeting her now husband the Black Sheep Bar is an institution.
It’s got great music as it great for a more alternative night out in Croydon – it’s not that big, but I think that’s what adds to its charm.
Get there early – as with most bars to avoid standing in the queue for the one in one out policy.

My mate Dazzle Fizzle assures me that this is the only place to to get your crunk on weekly in the hood of Croydon. That was a joke about hood but I am sure you all got it loud and clear.
They have a break class / meet-up weekly so if you have ever felt the urge to dance to the rhythm of the night, then head here.
I once saw Adam F there many many many many years ago and it blew my mind. This was circa 2kBG (Before Glitch-step). I think I might have asked him for his autograph because I am sad like that. That was when drum and bass was da bomb but I quite like the direction dub-step has taken if am honest…But I digress, I was and still remain a huge fan of Adam Fenton.
If you look as young as I do, then you should have no problem blending in with the cool kids.
I know a secret, safe, free, parking space minutes away from the venue but I best keep it to myself lest it becomes public knowledge.

This place has turned 'alternative' into a complete fashion statement.
Its popular with the homosexual crowd and fashion indie kids.
There is a metal night every thursday and I'm not even joking when I say that the DJ Tony X plays the exact SAME SONGS EVERY TIME! pretty much in the same order aswell.
You can set your watch by his playlist.
The prices are reasonable but the beer isnt of the best quality. Stick to the bottles and spirits.
This venue does have potential though as it used to be a great alternative place to hang out.
Also if you go, be prepared for them to sign you up as a member. This includes them taking your finger print, photo, and your personal details: name address D.O.B.

Croydon’s best alternative venue! Become a member and enjoy half price drinks on a Monday. Tuesday offers drinks for a pound and pure, old school indie tracks. Club Camp on Wednesday provides a fun, fab gay night with cabaret and cheese. Thursday is a must for fans of 90s metal and rock, with a twist of trance, ska and emo music for good measure. Indie on Friday, mix-up on Saturday and a predominantly hip hop open mic night on Sunday – This venue really is a lively, diverse, unique bar, which more resembles a club due to its vibrant dance floor and 4am closing time. A word of warning, though; as the Bar’s popularity has risen, so has the outside queue length. Arrive between 9:30 and 10 to avoid the queues and entrance fees (which range between £3 and £5).

The Black Sheep is the best alternative bar in Croydon. Since the closure of The Cartoon, The Black Sheep has been doing its best to keep Croydon's diverse alternative scene afloat. They're doing this by putting on a variety of great nights each week, from Drum and Bass nights to Fetish nights. The entry is generally members only but you can become a member on the door for free when you turn up. They use a high-tech fingerprint recognition system that means that once you're a member, you don't have to take your ID out when you go there again! Tuesdays is the best night of the week, Pound-a-Pint night, the most eagerly anticipated night in Croydon.
