Review of Book Nook from 18 October 2009

This wonderful book shop has won Independant business of the year award for Brighton and Hove.Children love it as well as the parents who visit, too see there little faces whilst reading to their parents or friends is magical. The enthusiasm from Vanessa and Julie shows how they love this business. The choice of books and catering up to teenage years make it a family visit special. Tea and cakes just adds to the pleasure!

Review of Book Nook from 16 October 2009

Fabulous book shop. A huge selection for all ages of children and all types of subjects.Difficult to put a price range on it as it caters for all budgets, so went for the average price. A lovely ship in the middle of the shop for children to sit in and read a selection of books from the shop. Really great for distracting the little ones while you can concentrate on choosing books to buy. Very helpful staff and also have some cards and wrapping paper for sale for those emergency presents! The shop also emails people who want to know about events being held there. Special events when authors come to the shop, or guest readers come and the younger guests are encouraged to come in fancy dress. There is also a disabled size toilet which is roomy enough for buggies to fit in. Lovely cakes and drinks in the cafe at one end of the shop. Well deserved after a hard shop! It's open plan so Mums can sit and still watch their children sat in the shop boat. Only slightly negative comment is that the cafe is quite small so can become crowded if lots of buggies, but that is by no means a criticism of the shop as a whole, just a wish that the premises were a little bigger! Not a big enough issue to put anyone off going there though, as it really is a fab shop.
