jonscales, 21 May 2013:
Waited 20 mins to get in , even though we were on the guest list.
Had a table booked for 10 people, but were given a table for 4 people.
Paid an extortionate amount of money for the tiny table and bottle of vodka.
Club wanted £120 tip paid upfront before they had even brought us a drink!
Rubbish music ( music from the free TV channels).
Too crowded, no room to dance.
Walked through the crowd and was pushed from behind, turned around to see it was a member of staff trying to hurry me through the club.
Why would anyone want to go there???

I tried to go to Jalouse last Saturday night to celebrate my friend’s 22nd birthday. One of their club reps assured us that he had put us on the guestlist and reserved us a private table. So we turned up – 13 girls and 1 guy – and queued outside the club for an hour. The queue wasn’t very long but it didn’t start moving until 11.20pm and then moved very slowly. We surmised that this was so that they wouldn’t have to let too many people in for free (we had been told that girls get in free before 11.30pm and then get free vodka drinks). We saw a few people getting turned away during this time but we assumed they weren’t on the guestlist. Other girls were turned away for not being in heels!
When we finally reached the front of the queue the female door attendant in the fur coat wanted to look at our whole group. As soon as saw our whole group she said ‘sorry, it’s not happening tonight’ in a very rude tone. We asked why and she said we looked too young. We pointed out that we were all 21 and had ID to prove it but she refused to look at a single one of our IDs and told us to get out of the queue. She said that because it was a private members’ club they could turn away whomever they wanted (which is true, but they are also providing a service to the general public so they’d have trouble hiding behind that excuse in a court of law).
We were extremely upset to have been thrown out of the queue having made a table booking and queued up for an hour. My friend started crying because her birthday was ruined. We don’t know the real reason why we were turned away since we were a large group of almost all girls, all over 21 with ID, dressed appropriately (we’ve all been clubbing in the West End numerous times so we know how to dress to get in). We do however find it suspicious that we were turned away as soon as the door attendant saw that most of our group was Indian.
Please avoid this place that treats its customers with such utter contempt. Don’t trust its reps either.

Amazing decor with a light up ceiling and loads of platforms for the braver (or drunker) people to dance on. The music isn't bad and the sound system is really good too.
As you'd expect of Mayfair though, heavily over-priced drinks and stupid dress code policies (especially if you are a group of guys with no girls)
Personally, I don't really like this kind of club as I find it really pretentious but if your down in London and you are looking for a celebrity hang-out spot and you don't mind breaking the bank just to get tipsy then head on down - just make sure you bring a sleeping bag because you will need to be incredibly beautiful or get down there incredibly early to beat the queue..

I like this place and have had some great nights in here. BUT standard rules apply, you will not get in unless you have a promoters phone number to hand or are willing to meet the minimum spend on a table.

I’ve been to jalouse few times, and it’s a very nice club.
The club looks amazing like the marble platforms where people dance.
But the top of this club is the music, the dj is amazing and they are hosting violin musicians and special vocalists some nights….
