This is Italian homestyle cooking. While many restaurants near Kings Cross may be tourist ripoffs, this place serves substantial meals for reasonable prices.

Most of the small 2-person tables are outside on the pavement, a very al fresco experience under the trees and beside the semi-busy Voctoria St. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with ordering. I had some pasta with chicken and salsa; my wife had swimmer crab gnocchi that was a real bargain at less than $15.

It’s also a providore, meaning they sell food ingredients retail as well. I’m not sure if this is the reason why they can sell good meals than they do cheaper elsewhere or not. But ultimately this place is value for money.

It’s open early for breakfast and coffee.

And it’s BYO, so you can bring whatever you like from the bottle shop right up the street.
