The look of the place and its design are amazing - and were long overdue in Birmingham City centre let’s face it.

It is indeed overpriced generally speaking, as many others have commented on - but you are paying in part for the overall shopping experience and the environment you are in. Horses for courses folks- if you are looking for a bargain there are plenty of other haunts in Birmingham rag market, Primarket, H and M to name but a few). If you want some lovely high end treats whether it be toiletries, lingerie or the latest fashion this is the place to be. Ok - I am not the most designer kid on the block these days - but I still get annoyed at times when you see new trends on the telly or in your favourite mag and you cannot find a stockist. You can pretty much guarantee that the kit you see your favourite celeb wearing in ‘Heat’ will be in Selfridges within a week. The best bit though - the food !!!! every delicious thing you can think of . If you have a sweet tooth like me check out the jelly belly concession - its fab. Its also a brilliant place to find quirky gifts for those friends who seem to have everything.

This is the flagship store of the Bullring housed over four floors, and i found it a bit daunting when i first tried it’s delights.However over time i began to appreciate what a fantastic store it is,great concessions,from topshop to top designer names,if its fashion you’ll find it here.The store can be imtimidating and caters to the cool and trendy ,however if you like your designer togs like me ,this is the place to head .The store also has fantastic places to eat,a tattoo and piercing store,and an A1 Food hall,a massive perfumary(aftershaves for men)and make up department(including skincare).You’ll find designer names here you wont necessarily find anywhere else in Birmingham,in fact if your a bit of a fashion victim, you’ll probably find what your favourite celebrity is wearing, or something you have seen in latest edition of GQ,O.K or Heat.The store it’s self is housed inside a futuristic building covered by 15,000 aluminium discs and gathers it’s inspiration from a chain mail dress by Paco Rabanne.The Bullring as a whole is now the third most visited tourist attraction in the country,and Selfridges the fifth most photographed building.Amazing i know ,so obviously well worth a visit.

A trendy place to shop and ‘do lunch’, Selfridges & Co Birmingham is situated in the eccentric and imposing edifice of the Bullring; it has an awesome array of fashion designers within its stylish interior, including Ted Baker, Evisu, Lulu Guinness and hundreds more…

If you have a passion be for food and drink, as I do, rather than shopping, the food court on the ground floor sates a variety of dietary twinges - from Yo! Sushi to the Gallery Restaurant and the Moet bar, along with a fantastic array of freshly prepared foods in the Deli areas (try the Moroccan pancakes, they’re gorgeous!!) For an indulgent snack, try the delicious ice creams at Morellis or a Krispy Kreme, or better yet, take home a fine vintage from the extensive selection on offer, or a gorgeous treat like the fantastic new Rose from Champagne Bollinger!

For the ladies, a pamper filled day at Selfridges could begin with a trip to a treatment room with experts from Lancome, Mac, Dior or YSL to name a few, followed by a cut and style at the marvellous Umberto Giannini hair salon, and finished off with a San Tropez Tan… Heaven!

Alternatively, piercings and tattoos are executed with the highest level of professionalism and care, and a consultant is on hand to discuss needs, designs and advise on the huge range of exclusive jewellery available, along with newer piercing styles and placements. After discussin with the staff, I found out dermal piercing will soon be available!

For all you tech-freaks out there (I’m one too) Tekzone is perfect to check out the latest gadgets and gizmos, including the latest mac laptop - the MacBook Air, and the iPod touch…

So you’ll probably bump into me when you go, because wild horses couldn’t tear me away! With the best customer service in Birmingham, the best choice in the UK and the latest designers and products from around the globe, Selfridges & Co in the Bullring, Birmingham, is the only place to be!

What can i say about selfridges , like said before it is the ultimate shop well as far as im concerned i have never seen anything like it , you name it they probably have it , but don’t be fooled this shop is not for the bargain hunter your unlikely to find one its top quality products at top prices but don’t let that put you off , the amount of choice and floors make up and deliver if nothing else amazing design in the shop and amazing architecture on the outside where you can take a break and have a well deserved coffee :) . in conclusion the prices aren’t dirt cheap but i still rate the store a definite 5 out of 5 .
