The Nook

It's not our local chippy, but it's the only one we use. Fish is cooked as it's needed, and it's recently been overhauled. Don't ask for large chips unless you have a suitcase to carry them. Deliveries are on the cards too...

What can i say? The best chip shop for miles around. My kids love going for the free sweets and my husband loves going for his fresh cod! For such a little shop, its fantastic and friendly. Pleased we found it.

The Nook used to be a great, family run chip shop with a real community feel. However it has been sold and I find the service now to be apalling. The chips are often soggy or greasy. However, I will say that some people (i.e mums friends) seem to like soggy chips!

this is deffinately the best place to get your fish and chips it is strongly reccomended but it is a bit pricey its clean nice and will always great you with a nice freindly smile

the nook is a incredible place to get some fish and chip the food it just cooked right and the chips are gorgeous i reccomend it to all good chipers =)

There are chip shops and there are chip shops! The Nook is the one traditional chip shop ran by a local family with ques out the shop and down the street on a regular basis. Be prepared to que! The wait is worth it though as the fish and chips are always excellent. You can get a dandelion and burdock to go with them and for me it's always like a trip down memory lane, as good as i used to have as a kid with my Dad on a friday evening. They are not the fasted at serving you but you will have had a good chat with the owners and locals in their by the time youve left. If you move to this area this is the place to get established!
