Ive have been attending this clinic for a while now and wish i listened to the reviews before paying up front- laser clunic off baker street. Very disappointent with the customer service its completely non existent. All of the therapist crowd around the till area drinking continous cups of water and nibbiling on food talking to eachother and completely ignorging all customers as they enter the clinic. I have been to this clinic around 10x and each time its the same. They do not make eye contact and avoid speaking to you, no ones looks up and says can i help even when its quiet instead talking to each other while im standing at the reception area. On several occasions i sit quietly until someone looks up and actually alnowledge my existence which is minor customer service (get better better customer service on the market Stall purchasing apples). I have asked to speak with the owner as they made a mistake with my records and to complain about the dreadful customer but i was told the Owners were unavailable and i am very certain the owners would like to know exactly how the business is being run by so called "professional" therapists. On separate occasion it was bitter cold and pouuring with rain i sitting waiting for my friend as she finished her treatment i was asked to leave the clinic as there was no one at available at reception and couldn't leave upstairs unattended, this was after i just finished my treatment and waiting for my friend after i recommended the clinic early stages of treatment. I would not recommend this clinic their prices arnt cheap and the technology is not that great either the cherry on top is the very bad service. Avoid this clinic to avoid dissapointment

This was the worst experience ever. I went there yesterday in the evening. As soon as I walked in I felt very uncomfortable. The reception was full of therapists eating chocolate and nobody looked at me or even asked me what I was there for. After 5 minutes I told the receptionist that I had an appointment for a free consultation as I was interested to the firmslim treatment. She told me to take a sit and gave me a medical form to fill out. After 3 minutes a woman came to me and asked 'are you done with that?' Since I was surprised to hear soch a rude tone I raised my head and asked 'excuse me?' She kept with her attitude and repeated the question. As a first impression this was not good at all. If I have to think that someone like that should put her hands on me I get shivery! Anyway.. She told me to follow her down the stairs. I didn't even know who she was since she didn't even introduce herself. One we were in the room she told me to take a sit on a chair in a corner. She sat on the couch keeping 3 meters distance from me. (Not good at all, I was very unconfortable). Then she asked me why I was interested in that treatment and we started talking. I've asked her I few question about the machine, how it works.. She couldn't answer to that, the only thing she kept saying was that the treatment was good for firming the skin but it didn't work. O.o I asked her if it's true that you can see the results after the first treatment and she said yes. Then I asked her again what kind of results you could see and she said again that it doesn't work. Lol! I couldn't believe it, I didn't understand what was going on. Then I understood. I've noticed a big big difference between the way I was treated and the way the other ENGLISH clients were. (No offence) She probably thought that I was a waste of time because from the way I looked I couldn't for sure afford any of their treatments. ( I'm 27 but I look 16). She didn't even start a consultation, she didn't even read my medical form, she didn't ask me to have a look at the area I wanted to get treated. All she did was simply pushing me to go away. And so i did. i just walked out. I tried to call then and get a way to make a complaint but it's impossible. They are all very very cold. This is the first time that something like that happens to me and since I'm a spa therapist I feel even worst because I know exactly how things should work in this kind of business, I felt umiliated. All they think about is money money money, if you are English for this est European girls it means you are wealthy, if you are not English and look simply normal for them you are not worth even for a consultation. You are a waste of their time. This happened to the clinic in paddington. Shame on them. I can't believe that in 2013 and in a developed city like London we get to stuck to this ignorance. Shame on them

i have been attending this clinic off baker street for almost a year, continuing my laser treatment which is nearly coming to and end, the hair regrowth on my face has not changed whats so ever and very patchy around the public area, the staff are disorganised and some are not very friendly and make you feel uncomfortable whilst having the treatment.

They lost my file on couple of occassions which caused to misplace my cancellation payment fee of 50 pounds which i 100 percent paid, but continue to call me a liar and are trying to extorf money from me.

Better of at the skin clinic

they burned my skin and find them so rude, the allowed me to leave the clinic with tissue all over my face and no one told me untill 4 hours when i got home and looked in the mirror. they use a different therapist on each occassion which is annoying as none of them treat the areas the same causing patches.
they burned my face and was not appologetic

I've been coming to this clinic for the last 2 years and have found both the service and treatments brilliant. I have had several laser treatments and have so far seen amazing results. It does make a difference to have the right person to treat you and have been extremely happy with their friendliness and warm approach. Would highly recommend The New York Laser Clinic to all my friends and family, in which I have already. The treatment has changed my life in many respects so thank you!

I had a course of six laser hair removal sessions on my legs and I am so pleased with the results. Every week that I went they set the laser to a higher intensity which I think really stopped a lot of the hair dead. I have a little regrowth but it's softer, lighter hair and only in a little patch (bearing in mind I finished my treatments almost three years ago I think that's outstanding!) I have tried two other laser clinics but neither have managed to live up to the standards of NY laser. I am currently having further laser treatment in another of their branches and I will post a review of that clinic when my course is finished.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews on here. I am half way through my laser treatment, I'm having my armpits and hollywood done for amazing price under £400! I find it much less painful than the Hollywood waxing I used to have and have not been burnt or had any negative reaction. The staff are lovely ladies and I've been a few mins late on my last treatment and they were very considerate :) I have recommended NY laser clinic to al my friends and I'm so pleased that after only a couple of treatments patch of hair aren't growing back and I am getting hardly any ingrowns at all! I'm so looking forward to the results after all of my 6 treatments it's the best decision I made this year.

Good customer service and convenient opening hours. They always call you two days before your appointment to remind you.
The laser hair removal seems to have been effective so far. There was a noticeable hair reduction even after just the first appointment. The candela laser itself is almost painless, all you feel are little pricks.
would definitely recommend this clinic

I Have been going to this Clinic since 2008 and have referred a number of people here! I am well; underway of having my entire body lasered and must say- not exaggerating but this is one of the best things i have ever done with my money! I was riddled with ingrowing hair which has now completely gone! My skin is so very smooth and the dark black hair has completely gone on many areas and reduced by over 90% on the rest!
I have had Rachel for the duration of my treatment and she is fantastic & have also had interactions with Donna the owner who is also most kind!
Highly efficient, fantastic results worth every single penny!
I have already recommended many people and would recommend anyone as this has been the best value for money and service!
Thank you guys as always!

I read the freviews but i gthought it was rare incidents and still bought a gropun voucher
Because my friend had a good experience at other branch of new york laser
So i booked an appoinment for myself and my friend and although groupon site said until 6 pm I was told latest appoinment has to be 5:30
and i was told we can both book for same time as it takes 15 mins for each customer
When we arrived 3 mins late due to location of the clinic (you have to go through a street market)
as soon as we arrived we were told we are 10 mins late - appafrenty they have their own time zone:)
anyway than we said at least take one of us but they refused and said they have customer at 6 pm
althougg it was only 5:34. i had to leave ear;y to make it but they didnt accept our pleases. Also they said whoever booked it made a mistake because first consultation takes 20 mins and since there were two of us and one consultant avalaible thta day she could not make it even if we arrived on time
and eventually my friend decided to rebook and we were there until 6 pm and there was no customer
and we were told if you buy voucher from groupon that is what you will get :)
I have never seen such bad service and any solution we offered was refused
I dont understand why at least one of us could not be taken ? it seems like they hate customers:)
consultant name was Barwi and indian lady
and a receptionist
I will try to get a refund from groupon
i hope nobody else will be treated that way anymore
Owner needs to talk to staff about customer service

I really wish that I had read these reviews before going there. I had a patch test on underarms and peri-anal. These went fine so I booked my first appointment. During the treatment it hurt like hell and I had to ask the therapist to stop a couple of times. After I left but had to come back within 15 minutes as I was in so much pain. I was left alone in a room with a cold cloth on my butt and some aloe on my underarms and the door was locked. The pain got so bad I couldn't stop crying and shaking and had to call their reception to get some help. They kept insisting that the underarms were just red and that was normal but the peri-anal was burned because my skin was darker there. In fact, I now look like somebody has put cigars out on my underarms and both areas are burned black. I will never go back and never recommend. I am going to see a dermatologist to see if what happened to me is their fault or just one of those things. By the way this is a chain and I went to a different branch.

If I coudl give zero stars I would. I went for my patch test as I wanted laser hair removal.. I was rushed in and out. The therapist tested four areas but failed to notice that she had quite badly burnt me on each time - I did say ouch but she carried on with the other areas without checking as she was going. I thought this pain was normal but I immediately looked at the areas after she had finished and each one had a blister which has subsequently scabbed and scarred and discoloured my skin.

I decided to wait to see if this calmed down but it didn't and it was very painful. I now have a scar in the middle of my cheek, my bikini line is discoloured where she did two tests and my legs has a big scab on it.

I want to point out I've had laser at home in Scotland over 8 times in various places and never have I been burned or scarred.. it's not my skin type it's a total lack of care. AVOID this place.

When I called to complain, I asked to speak to the manager and the therapist told me they are not allowed to give out her name. It's Donna Willingham for those who need it. I am going to follow this up with a solicitor as I don't believe the usual protocol is to give someone a test in the middle of their face rather than an obscure place like the hair line.. one burn is an accident, four is negligence.

Also, prior to making these serious allegations, no incident of this nature was reported, and no verbal or written complaint was received from anyone using this name, or any other name. Had an incident been reported or complaint received, under internal Company policies and procedures the matter would have been followed up immediately and thoroughly investigated.

Terrible customer service and underhand attitude.... I have been a regular customer of this clinic and used to think that it was very good. However, I attended my appointment yesterday, and had spoken to the clinic three times prior to my arrival, once to book my repeat appointment, once when they called to confirm and then once again when they called to see if they could change my appointment and at no point did they mention that they had overnight raised the prices by 50%!!!! I was really annoyed to discover that they only told me this when I showed up. This is a massive hike in prices and I was disgusted that they actively chose not to inform me prior to my appointment and when I pointed out that this was really underhand they took the attitude that I could just leave if I didn't like it!! The staff were completely indifferent to whether I remained a client or not and showed no interest in keeping their clients - it really was a like it or lump it attitude. So, that's the last time I will go there and in future I will find a clinic that understands the value of customer care!!

It is unfortunate that you were not notified prior to attending, as staff were told to inform ALL clients attending for appointments in advance, although the clinic website does clearly state the amended prices.
The price increase is the first increase in over 8 years. However, we are confident that you will not find cheaper prices using the same top quality laser machinery, namely the Candela mini GentleLase, in Central London. If you do, please notify us and we will match the price quoted.

Review of The New York Laser Clinic from 17 April 2012

I went here for laser skin rejuvenation on my face and was talked into having an course of acid peels and microdermabrasion beforehand to enhance the laser treatment results. The therapist assured me she knew my skin type and this was the best course of action. Unfortunately I have sensitive skin and have since been told that microdermabrasion is not recommended for my skin type, nevermind a course of chemical peels. When the laser treatment started the therapist sometimes didn’t even bother to clean my skin beforehand, when I questioned this and said I was wearing face cream with SPF in, she shrugged and said it didn’t matter. Her attitude was horrendous and I never did go back for my last treatment, which I had already paid for. Problem is the damage had already been done and I now have been left with highly sensitive skin which is permanently red and reacts to everything. Not only that I have red patches on my face that flake and don’t heal and I can actually see the round shape of the laser head where I have been burnt.
