An enjoyable place. At least the first time!

It’s a bit expensive and time consuming.

Madam Tussauds in London has a very nice entrance, and a warm welcome from a lot of press reporters, even though it was fake, but it’s nice to feel that way. There are a lot of famous personalities. The best part about it was the Planetarium, and the 5 minute presentation of space was amazing!

maddame tussauds was a bit shorter than i had expected so make sure you spend time at each place, perhaps reading about the person or having a photo taken with them. it is quite a novelty place to go to, you wouldn’t want to go there twice, but it is great fun having your photo taken with an imaginary celebrity and showing it to your friends. I would recommend it as part of a day out in london.

Expensive, models just not up to scratch and long queuing… just to get my immediate opinions over with.
I went to Tussauds expecting a lot more than what I got. After paying £25 per person I was expecting something really good, and while it was an entertaining hour or so, I was a little disappointed. We had to queue for about an hour to go in, which seemed an excessively long time. I though ok, it must just be so that theres not too many people in building at once, but it was still packed. We jsut didn’t get to see some models because there were too many people in the way. We wanted lots of photgraphs as anyone would but it is very difficult to get pictures with some of the models. Now onto the models themselves; some of them were awesome reproductions of their celebrity counterparts which I could have sworn were real, but soem were just plain awful. I know this is probably to be expected but again for £25 each you expect the best, or at least very good. Overall a good experience but make sure you downloads the vouchers that little the internet unlike us, as you will get much better value for money.

I think this has to be the most over-rated 'attraction’ in London. It was generally ok and some wax works were quite similar to the original celebrity but after 4 hours of queueing which was just ridiculous the main place itself then was far too over crowded and not enough room to relax. Rushed photos with the waxworks as everyone wanted a photo so more queues.
I’d say we were in for about an hour, but definitly not worth the money of 4 hours queuing for.

LAst year I had a chance to visit this popular landmark in london along with my hubby. As I entered it there were all wax statues but very few and we were both surprisd that this can’t be popular for so less statues. There were other wax statues of popular stars and people which we were not able to figure it out. We were completely lost and suddenly i saw a group of peple lined in a queque heading to some place. We thought this might be the way that could lead us to those statues and we also lined up and then we realised this is correct way and we could find our favourite stars in wax form. Not only that we also rwent to one of the scary shoes which really scared me. But overall i liked it.

I never really thought of going to Madame Tussauds before as I thought it was only for kids but I went last summer with a couple of mates and we had a great time. I didnt think I could get so excited about a few pieces of wax but they really are so artistic and realistic you cant help but enjoy it. Though the Elvis Presley one was really disappointing! And the Jacko one was just scary but worth going to see. The show in the panetarium at the end was also fun but it was really busy so had taken us over 2 hours to get round which I wasnt expecting.
It is extremely over priced though and I would have been really disappointed had I paid that much for it. But we got tickets from collecting tokens in the Sun! In the summer theres always some sort of offers on in the papers so keep an eye out. Also check the TFL website and 'days out in London’ guide as they usually have some good offers on all year round. If you are travelling to Madame Tussauds by train then you can sometimes get a good deal with your train ticket so check when buying it. Overall it is fun and an enjoyable day out so start searching for those offers and you will have a good day out.

My rating is based on paying full price for Maddam Tussauds as i think £25 per adult is quite expensive. You can (which at the time i didnt know) but get 2 for 1 tickets if travel with chiltern rail which would definitely make it worth while.

I did however enjoy the time we spent there (roughly just over a hour) and some of the wax work models are really good. It can get quite busy so out of peak hours will probably be better.

At the desk to pay at entry, you can pay a few pounds more the go through London Dungeons - which we didn’t do due to my brother not fancying it.

Lots of places to buy snacks and drinks, they can get quite pricey.

A must when visiting London.

i realloy enjoyed this place and was especially looking forward to seeing how realsitc the models were which i thought were a close resemblance. however, my partner is a movie buff and he said that he thought that the models were not a very good likeness atall. its very expensive for the little amount of time this activity consumes.

I thought Madame Tussauds was over hyped and so never bothered going before. Also it didn’t help that everytime i drove past in in recent times the queues have gone way back. Anyway i finally decided to put another feather in my cap by visiting this place last month (just before xmas) and it was not bad at all. There were no queues at all and we just walked in after collecting our tickets that i had booked online 2 days earlier. The wax works were pretty good. Some were pretty fake looking but some were amazingly accurate and real looking. The 'Scream’ event was not too bad either.
The whole experience should last about an hour which is a shame.

I think that everyone must have heard of Madam Tussauds, because it is so famous, but if you have not heard of it and do not know what it is, then it is a wax museum. If you are a tourist visiting London, then surely it must be one of the places that you absolutely have to visit. It is easy to get to by bus or tube. The only downside is that there always seem to be long queues to get in. You can buy fasttrack tickets in advance, but from what I have heard, these are not much better. Once inside, there are wax models of famous people and you can have your photograph taken with them. (Don’t forget to take your camera!). There are film stars, pop stars, politicians, members of the Royal family, sporting legends. Whatever takes your fancy. There are some parts that are scary, but you are warned before you enter these parts not to go in if you are of a nervous disposition.

It is quite an expensive place to visit, but if you plan ahead, you might be able to find some money saving vouchers by searching online.

If it annoys you to pay alot for an attraction that doesnt last that long then dont come here unless you have buy one get one free vouchers, which have been widely available all year. We used one making it £25 for 2 rather than each. I would have been fuming if I had paid £25 just for me.

Having said that, it is so much fun in here - the wax models are fantastic and you can take photos of youself with the stars. There is also a little london ride that takes you through big events that have happened in London, e.g. great fire. But the fun only lasts about an hour so realistically dont expect to spend all day here. We saw everything and were in and out within the hour.

Recommended if you can get an offer - full price may result in disapointment.

In here, this is probably the only chance many of us will ever get to rub shoulders with celebrities or have our picture taken with a president or royalty.
Madame Tussards is just packed full of life size wax work figures of all of the latest present day characters from the world of entertainment, business and royalty.
They have also set it all out in such a way that you sort of meander through them all so they often look like part of the crowd, which is much better than having them all set out in long lines.
Always worth going back every few years because they are always changing the figures over for new characters.

The London Planetarium and Madam Tussauds or located two doors away from Baker Street Tube and are accessible from pretty much anywhere in London. Ticket prices are expensive but its a great place to take the kids, and the grown ups will enjoy it too. The waxworks are of varying quality, some artfully crafter, others barely recognisable as the celebrities they are supposed to represent. Worth checkin out once.

I would recommend Madame Tussards for everyone, children, adults & tourists alike. There is quite literally something for everyone, the waxworks are very detailed, but it can get very busy and pushy around some of the more popular waxworks, but the building is huge and I love how different areas have different themes and it wasn’t too badly priced. I didn’t fancy going into the Chamber of Horrors but fortunately there is an alternative route that you can use that bypasses it!

I will pre warn you - I love Tussauds and try and go there everytime I visit London.

Why? Its simple, its a great place to visit and stare in wonder at the waxworks, learn more about the history of London and the celebrities there, plus its about as close to Kylie as I’ll ever get!

The vast amount of celebrities who’ve had a waxwork there never cease to amaze me, and Tussauds now offer you a chance to see how these are made through a new section that guides you through the waxwork process.

They also have special sections that highlight certain people - such as a Johnny Wilkinson section in 2006 where you could kick a ball at a video screen to try and emulate his style, or a Pirates of the Carribean section in 2007.

The most fun is taking pictures of yourself with the celebs, and its probably what has got me coming back, most of my visits involve me giving my partner the camera and running from waxwork to waxwork like an excited child!

Its expensive, but well worth the money

My review is only for the planetarium as we couldn’t afford to go into the waxworks even though we would of liked to it was too pricey. We went to the planetarium on a free ticket day just after it’s refurb and reopening. We were very impressed with the show however thought it was a bit short and to be honest we have seen better. Absolute nightmare for parking in central London and if you’re a blue badge holder like myself it doesn’t even make life much easier. I would suggest if your able to use public transport then do so, I unfortunately am unable to, when will they sort out more blue badge parking sigh. Anyway planetarium was worth the effort.

Great waxwork of the world’s celebrities can be found at Madame Tussauds. It is amazing how life-like they are able to get the wax-work. The interactive elements are also really fun.

Its a 'must go to place’ in London although somewhat over-rated. You go to once and then never again or in 5 years time. Try and use a discount voucher or it ends up quite expensive. This is part of the Merlin Entertainment Group so a Merlin card or membership will allow you reduced access fee or even free access depending on membership you have. Highlights for me were Tiger Woods, Branson, Lance Armstrong and some political figures. Closest tube station for this landmark is Baker Street but bear in mind that the London Tour Buses all stop here as well. The shows that they have are quite nice as well.

Some of the best waxworks you could find. From entertainers, filmstars to sportsmen - anyone who could make it into Madame Tussard is definitely famous. You also get to take unlimited photos with the famous celebrities. Plenty of people all year round so make sure you get hold of your tickets online!

In all my many trips to London, I’ve been passed Madame Tussauds lots of times and never been in. My partner persuaded me it was well worth it and I’m glad we went.

It wasn’t the cheapest, but outings in London rarely are. It’s interesting to see the work put into the wax creations and really surprised me that you can go right up to the celebrity models and pose next to them - this is half the fun!

We were fortunate not to encounter and huge queues by visiting quite late in the day! I would definitely recommend going at this time!

The Planetarium was an enjoyable and unusual experience, but possibly something that younger kids might like much more!

At the end of the tour there is the obligatory overpriced gift shop, but overall if you’re a tourist to London you should definitely stop by here just to say you’ve been!

Although this is an established London attraction it is clearly not worth the money they charge for it. I do not deny that it is in fact interesting but it is far busier than I would like it to be, having left me without that feeling of accomplish from seeing everything, I couldn’t almost move and look at the sculptures properly due to the high influx of visitors. That might be a good sign for business but it isn’t for a visitor that wants to view everything, after having pay a princely sum of £25 you would expect more, wouldn’t you?

The best part of the exhibition is the Horror chamber in the way that it shows the first sculptures Tussaud made. It was quite nice to see Marie Antoinette’s head there. Other than that was actually a run of the mill exhibition, not even the “taxi ride” within the attraction made it better.

I got out of there a bit disappointed, but with the feeling that it is one of those attractions that you have to be there at least once. Just try to find out what is the calmest day to go!

I think this place is fun but goodness it is so overprices. A family of four will find it an expensive day out, not to mention the queues to get in. The let a hell of a lot of people in and you feel a bit on a conveyor belt being shuffled along whether you want to or not.

I was expecting a tourist experience with Madame Tussauds but left with what was most definitely an underwhelmed experience. The queue initially was enough to put anyone off - but I was itching with anticipation to see lots of famous people - expecially the new interactive exhibits. I liked the way that I was able to take photos but can honestly say that I couldnt recognise one or two of the characters. I was hoping for more interactions and felt slightly disappointed with the range of exhibhits and level of interaction. The ride was quite good though was very short and I came away from that wanting more! I am not sure that I would go back in a hurry but appreciate that this is one of the places to put on the list of places to go in London

Was really disappointed with tussauds. We paid for fast track and got in really fast which was great. However, i thought that the majority of the waxworks were very unrealistic - the odd one or two were brilliant but in general they were rubbish. The guiding “This way here please” signs were minimal which meant general confusion. The saving grace of this cash cow was the chamber of horrors, i had the best laugh in years at my ruffy toughy partner being scared out of his brains! Ha ha! The through the London ages ride was also good, despite some hardfaced young girls trying to push their way to the front of the queue.

My husband , daughter and i visited here in June. It was our first trip to Tussauds. We bought a Merlin annual pass which although expensive does offer pretty good value for money considering the individual costs of the atrractions it covers.
With the pass we also avoided the huge queues so in my mind its worht it for that alone!
We went late afternoon and though busy we never really felt overcrowded or anything.
The staff were fab, very friendly and helpful and really enthusiastic which was nice to see.
The waxworks themselves were great fun, some clearly more realistic than others. We had a wonderful time doing the usual poses and i especially enjoyed kissing George Clooneys cheek, though did wonder how many others had done it before me! The waxworks do actually look much better than they come out on photos too, they seem to take on a shiny appearance on the photos which you dont see there.
We also paid the extra to do the chamber of horrors, our daughter kept jumping and so did the lady behind me but luckily for me the 'actores’ left me alone ha ha. The ride inside it was a nice surprise as hadnt expected a 'moving’ attraction and we grinned liked lunatics on that and even bought the photo.
This was the first thing we went to see after arriving in London and was a fab start to a really wonderful weekend for our daughters first trip and birthday treat. Recommended!

Madame Tussauds is a great way to spend the afternoon, whether it be with friends or family. You can easily provide most of the entertainment yourself simply by taking crazy photography and 'meeting’ your favourite celebs, but there are also activites provide by the venue itself, for instance when we went the Big Brother diary room was present and we we able to purchase a DVD of our diary room experience (at a high price naturally). That’s the thing about Madame Tussauds, what you get out of it is up to you, personally I wouldn’t pay full price to go here, but with the many half price offers kicking about it’s worth a visit.
