This odd little cave in set in the heart of the Shakespeare, strangely, so that when you find the blue gem centre you think it is going to be either, incredibly tacky, or incredibly glam, but I tell you it is neither!
A total nook and cranny bar, with little dug outs for privacy dotted along one wall, and quirky quotations scripted on the walls. Now, I’m not the tallest missy in London but I had to go to the bathroom stooped over- it’s the land of the little people all over again. It really is an ancient dug out, so be prepared.
I watched singer song writers here, and I think it’s a bit too small for this, only because you must be at the front or give up your chance to see, it isn’t designed as a performance space. It is a real sweet little bar, and intimate and hidden away, for those reasons I would come back

What a quirky little place. First of all it’s surrupticiously plonked in the heart of a pub - very confusing if you’re heading for this place. It’s got a serious case of bad naming - Sapphire Lounge evokes images of tacky neon lights and glowing drinks. Instead it’s more like a collection of little caves - vestibules linked by a passage on either side of a bar. Bit strange to hold a gig here, but really fun too - close nit and cosy. We went to see Rayguns Look Real Enough last night and had a great time. Nice place for intimate drinks if you get your own little cave - was pretty quiet when we went and might need to work a little on their signage!
