Compliment

The Amsterdam supperclub, prodigious brainchild of Thorwald Voss, notorious cook and visiual artist, has grown to maturity. After a thorough renovation and reorganization, the artistic restaurant in the old center of Amsterdam is now more
beautiful, robust and refined than ever before. Grown up together with the many visual artists, writers, musicians, fashion designers, and kindred souls, for whom it still is the place in town. There is a restaurant and a lounge/bar downstairs. The menu is fixed and is eaten while lounging on cushions. Its one of Amsterdams real dining experiences and is a magnet for celebs, the hip and the trendy. Its best to book weeks in advance and its not cheap.
The Supper Club is definitely a place to see and be seen in. The ambience and entertainment are both lively, but to be honest I was not so impressed with the cuisine. It's a limited choice fixed menu, and I once ended up with a starter consisting of a few radishes, followed by a main dish of seared tuna (still chill in the center, and rather tough) which was, to say the least, dissapointing. The desserts are tasty, and I usually drink a lot of Champagne which makes up for the food. The laid back seating arrangement is ideal for enjoying an after dinner joint and a little more Champagne.
