You would think going to Wagamamas would be a safe bet with their set menus, ingredients, decor etc.

You’d be wrong…. This branch at Wimbledon has the worse staff I have encountered in a Wagamamas ever. I visited with a colleague on 26th July 2011 and as we were so busy chatting we forgot we hadn’t even been approached by a member of staff. So 15 minutes in and we didn’t even have drinks. I waved desperately trying to attract attention but gave up and have to walk over to the drinks bar to ask for someone to take our order.

A female waitress did shortly after ( and to give her due she was very pleasant and friendly) but following that the staff barely approached us and even after asking for the bill the waiter hurried away before my colleague could even finish her sentence (which was to ask for a split bill).

We didn’t wait for someone to come and collect the payment (otherwise we could still be there….) but instead walked to the cash point. There ensued a confusion on the costs – which could hardly be simpler. 2 mains, 2 beers, 2 sweets, 2 coffees.
I left even more exasperated than I was when I had to chase for our order to be taken.
To add insult to injury on registering my complaint on Waga’s own website I have yet to receive any acknowledgement of any kind.

If that is the reaction from Head Office then there is little hope.

We like to come here because of the nice service, their uncomplicated way and the family/children friendly atmosphere.

They offer a wide variety of japanese dishes. I specially like the ramen, noodles and teppan. All worth a try.

Prices are reasonable and in good relationship to quality and quantity. Looking forward to come here with my family again the next time I go to Wimbledon.

Wagamama really has gone down hill from their heyday. This branch was really bad when I went in. Everyone already knows that the food has become generic and nearly tasteless, but now the service has taken a dive. The staff was rude and forgetful. They forgot drinks and didn’t apologise. Won’t be going back. Ever.

Wagamama is a chain of restaurants offering oriental meals. The service is very fast and the atmosphere is very very relaxed. The food is absolutely delicious and always is, whichever restaurant you go in. The decor of this Wagamamma is very modern with clean lines and lots of light, it is rather a large restaurant with plenty of space. it does get busy as it is a rather popular restaurant in the area.

Oriental cuisine is not really my thing but we did enjoy this as it is quite different. Varied menu, and good attentive staff, reasoanbly priced and great location. We would go again if in the area.

Wagamama in Wimbledon has been open now for a couple of years and always great great good priced food. Has quite a buzz lunch and evening times as lots of office people go, so always quite lively and loud so another good place to take kids. At the rear of the restaurant is an out door seating area and in the summer you can eat outside. Food is the same other branches and service is very good hear as the size of this branch is not too big.

Like any other waggamama’s. Good food. Good service. Friendly staff. A little out of the way from the broadway, but nonetheless, a good place for a evening meal.

i went here for the first time the other week, and i was surprised at how tasty the food was for such basic food. the staff were friendly and i had a good time. it is pricey though, and the tables are directly next to each other so not much privacy, but if you’re not bothered by that it’s a good place to eat, and healthy!

Another chain restaurant. This time of the noodle persuasion. Wagamama is reasonable and like the Wagamama in any other town you know what you are getting.

If you haven’t been to one, go. The experience of having your intimate dinner conversation over heard by people sitting on the bench beside you is traditional for noodle bars, but surprisingly caught on with prudish Brits here in London.

This place used to be a lovely pub once a upon a time, but this chain store came in and cleaned up. If you have been to another Wagamama, you don’t need to visit this one unless you are on a budget in Wimbledon. Try somewhere like San Lorenzo, the hideaway or even Al fornos.

Having never experienced this contemporary and well known chain, I was excited by my first visit and was no means disappointed. This is not of course a place for an intimate night for two when you sit on a bench in close proximity to a group of strangers. However, this experience is not to be missed. The service is fast, friendly and well worth a tip! The food is cooked in an open kitchen so it’s fresh and they’re able to modify dishes if necessary. It is brought to the table on a first cooked first serve basis so no politeness in waiting for your parties food before tucking in. Perfect pre-theatre venue.
