To much to say about the park to be honest.
(1) I used to work there 12yrs
(2)Summertime: lots and lots to do…deers in the woods need a keen eye though.
(3)The Gorge and to be honest here I would not…I repeat I would not walk alone in there day/night…its just not safe (people hiding in bushes/gangs of lads around with dogs/there is always some one lurking in there and up to no good…if you must go in… go in 3s upwards.
(3) Really sorry I dont have much time to put any more down at the moment have to go out.

This park is huge and has something for everyone - Flat areas of grass for sports and picnicing; play areas; wooded areas for mountain biking and dog walking; lakes for rowing; The Mansion and Cafe for food and drink.....
It can get very busy when there is the slightest bit of sun. But there is another car park on Weatherby Road, or on street parking on Princess Road or Park Lane.
For dog walkers - 'The Gorge' is always a lot quiter than walking round the lakes!

Nice park, but too muddy and puddly on paths and too many idiots walking round the park with their bulldogs crapping all over.

Burleylad, 9 September 2011:
Roundhay Park is an oasis of greenland within minutes of Leeds City Center.
The park has a huge lake with a walking strip around the lake. There is also a cricket ground and a childrens play area apart from the vast streaches of green acres!

ROUNDHAY PARK, Leeds, is very nice. A huge parkland area within easy reach of Leeds City Centre and other surrounding tourist attractions.
The Tropical World is well worth seeing, a true "MUST SEE" for all nature lovers.
The lawns beside the lake are superb for picnicing on sunny Sunday afternoons.

A very nice park indeed. It has a place called the mansion on the grounds which is soon to be a restaurant. I’ve eaten there already and the food is astonishing!

For a cheap day out take the kids to Roundhay Park. There’s lots of open space for them to ride around safely on bikes and there are also play areas and the lake to walk round. If you dont have a garden its the ideal place to go for fresh air and to sunbathe and you dont have to pay an entrance fee. The cafe is a bit expensive but you can always take your own drinks and food and have a picnic. Over the road is Tropical world but I do believe there is an entrance fee to go in.

A fantastic park in Leeds -- comparable to Heaton Park in Manchester in terms of size and facilities.
There’s certainly lots to do for all ages. As one might expect, there’s acres of space to walk the dog, run around in, play games or just explore; there are several very attractive more formal gardens; there’s a children’s playground, two lakes, bandstands, a folly, a Visitor’s Centre, at least one cafe, etc etc. And, of course, there’s Roundhay Tropical World, which has a Qype entry in its own right.
Car parking isn’t too bad, although on the day we went (admittedly during half-term) we were lucky to find a space. There was also a slight lack of signage -- since this was our first visit, we could have done with more maps around. Some of the maps we found seemed to be “Emergency Maps” designed to show where the nearest life-belt was rather than anything more substantive about the place.
That said, it is an excellent place for some fresh air -- highly recommended.

beautiful park to walk in or have picnics, shame the kids plaground isnt that big for the amount of kids that use it.theres queues to go on the equipment. but its a great place to take the bikes to go for a ride without getting endangered by passing traffic. shame the cafe is expensive.

Roundhay Park is one of my favourite parks to go to. I have been going since I was a child and there is always lots to do.
There is a large lake that you can walk all the way round, and feed the ducks and it looks a brilliant sight whether it is summer or winter. The cafe is situated near the lake and it is great to to in and warm up with a nice hot chocolate and piece of cake or sit outside if it is hot and overlook the lake.
The arena is a large area of flat grassland where you can play cricket, football or take the dog for a walk and get an ice cream. There is a great children’s play area for the smaller children and a skate board park for older ones.
You can always go through the Park and cross over the main road to the Tropical World which is another great place to visit and free if you have a Leeds card.

A huge park centreed around a lake, which you used to be able to fish in (you may still be able to now). Many visitors stick to the path around the lake, but if you venture away from this there are lots of interesting things to stumble upon, (like the “ruined tower”). Fun for kids to explore anyway. It’s great to cycle around, has a little cafe, and an ice cream van even if it’s cold. Sometimes hosts concerts there, which sell out quickly but are worth goign to just for the experience.

This is a very extensive park, with a couple of lakes to walk round, lots of open space for kids to run around, a cafe on the lake, a children’s playground, etc.
They have a number of special events at Roundhay park in the summer, mainly concerts. I went to one (opera in the park) and it was a great event, with everyone sitting out with their picnics

Lovely place to spend the afternoon, always think back to the great concerts I have seen here. So much space to stroll and just relax!!!!
On a summers day this is fantastic to come for a picnic, or a walk around the large lake. You can also visit the Tropical House that is nearby. In the centre of the park is the famous cricket pitch where all the concerts are held. But, on a Saturday in summer it is great just to chill out and watch the cricket for a couple of hours.
All in all there are many things to do in this large park for all the family.

A wonderful park to walk around with lakes, a playground, a little train to ride on & plants & pretty walks. There’s a cafe next to one of the lakes & a small museum & gift shop attached to the main house. The house itself is closed.
