Awesome place with awesome music. I love the place
I love the Rainforest Cafe but this ones no where near as good as the one at Downtown Disney Florida. Have to mark it down slightly because the staff arent as friendly. Its still good though!
I love the Rainforest Chain. I admit it's not gourmet, but great pizzas and burgers at a fair price. They do draw a lot of people in through the rainforest theme of the restaurant. Service is ok.
Can't say I've been to many themed restaurants during my time here in London. The Rainforest Cafe always came across as a bit of a tourist trap or a place for kids, and so it was my baby cousin's 1st birthday party which brought me here.
The decor was impressive. Lots of butterflies, water features, a couple of animated gorilla's which would go off from time to time and a tank full of exotic fish which acted as a nice disturbance for babies when the "thunder storm" effect went off (every 30 mins) which had all the babies in our group bawling their eyes out of fear each time this went off! A bit too loud I think...
The food was very average for the prices they were asking, but what was most disappointing was my £15 Caesar salad with breaded shrimp. The dish was essentially a whole head of Cos lettuce chopped into quarters, with the leaves all still in tact to the bulb! Crutons sprinkled on top were blocks of bread which were as tough as rocks.
Definitely wouldn't recommend eating here, nor bringing kids for 1st birthday parties...If you want a real jungle or animal experience, you're probably better off going to London Zoo. It would be much cheaper too!
Good chocolate cake thrown in for birthday parties though!

This place used to be somewhere truly unique and original to go and eat/drink/hangout on a rainy afternoon.
However it may be that the novelty of eating in a simulated rainforest environment with stuffed toys watching over you as you eat a burger has grown a bit thin or it may just never have been that cool in the first place, but this place is definitely one for just tourists.
If you have small kids then the child friendly ethos will probably suit you down to the ground and you can use the animated background puppetry to your advantage to keep the young ones entertained.
However I remember back in the nonwhite when the Rainforest Bar used to be full of twenty-somethings sipping exotic boost cocktails.
The food here isn't really worth justifying a visit and the service can be quite frantic.
Every ten minutes or so, the lights dim and faux lightning fills the room accompanied by the sound of lightning and elephant noises.
As I said above... Great for kids.
Mixed feelings about this place. Great themed idea but seemed disorganised and it was not clear when we arrived exactly what we had to do. When we finally got seated we ended up with what appeared to be the most unhappy member of staff. Others around seemed much happier. Food was just ok. Price's are what to be expected for a place like this in London. A place you go once to say been there done that.

£83.10 for the worst meal ever. Under average food, far too loud for very small children and charged £5 for a plate of plain pasta. Service very slow, didn't hang around long enough to get entire order!! Should you be crazy enough to go, don't be seated near the waterfall!!
It's not just for kids, adults will enjoy the themed décor here too.
I've eaten lunch here and it's not that cheap as other people have already pointed out, but it's still cheaper than the likes of the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood with a similar menu - albeit jungle themed. My waiting staff have always been really attentive and the food is pretty yummy.
Last night I hosted an event with a couple of other bloggers on the Rainforest floor. It's a great space and the staff were on hand the whole evening to bring cocktails (zingy orange ones), grub and sort the music. Food was good with a selection of tasty prawns and chicken on skewers.
Only thing that let them down was having the music stopped and lights turned on half an hour before the party was due to end. It was a week night, but even so the space had been paid for so it was a little disappointing to be kicked out early.
this is a great restaurant for a family day out it has a wide varitey of food to choose from and it has some great animals for the kids. its lushes food is great but i have to say i was put off with the price of it. it is truly like a rainforest and the backround is very entertaining.my point of view? well if you are new in london or just want to see the sights, stop in at the rainforest cafe!!
Great fun. Spare the cost of a whole meal and just have a drink at the bar instead. Loads of 'jungle juices’ and you get to sit on barstools with animal legs while watching the rainforest go by. What more could you want, really?
I agree with a lot of the comments here. The food and drinks are very pricey and average quality, but the service is excellent and the atmosphere great.
Had to pay a visit here as went to the one in Downtown Disney, LA. Much preferred that one as the quality of food was superior.
Birthday treat so it was a lovely lunch.
The food is pricey and not amazing…but that’s not really the point of the place…you go to look at the decor!
Rainforest themed, complete with thunder and lighting show, it’s sure to delight kids (of all ages!)
Good service, but overpriced food. £12.50 for a salad, burger or sausages of average quality. No, thank you! The kids liked it though - being in the “jungle” with the “animals”. Unfortunaltly all fake and plastic. So, we have tried it and doubt I will go back. Rather go to Blue Elephant, where the plants are real.
Avoid! Expensive food, expensive drinks, and just average food quality and service. You’re likely to find loads of tourists, especially with children, at this place. There are alot better places around in the area if you’re looking for food, drinks, or both.
I really enjoyed going here. It was expensive but nice to go somewhere different. As you would expect it is Rainforest themed. Before you get to the restaurant you walk through the store selling cuddly toys and then in to the restaurant. There is a bar and chairs for you to sit at which are shaped like animals legs. The restaurant itself is nice and every so often you see the animals move and hear some sound effects. There is a big fish tank. There is a good selection of food on the menu but the price of the food is very high. The toilet facilities are good.
this is very touristy… long queues, expensive prices and not much else really. the food was ok but a bit 'defrosted’ and plasticy.
the staff take good care of the kids with lots of colouring activities which they definately needed because the meals tok agesss to arrive. its very tacky but i guess its good if you like that style of 'planet hollywood’ eatery.
unless your after a 5* meal this will be a good place to go if the kids want to but i wouldnt really make a special jouney to go because theres not much behind the smoke and mirrors!
Food wasn’t great - the dessert was nice but the rest was a let down. We went for a friend’s birthday and was a bit disappointed. I can see the attraction, especially if you’re going with kids, but you’re going for the novelty aspects, not the food. I felt it was overpriced.
This is more of a one off experience for the kids rather than somewhere to eat regularly. The food is good enough. You get the standard American diner thing much like Planet Hollywood and TGIs. However the prices are extortionate and I have had better meals in terms of food quality than what they were offering. So very poor value for money but nevertheless an interesting theme. Try it once perhaps with the family but check the prices before you go is my advice.
The service and waiting times for the food weren’t too bad considering what a big restauant it is. And the staff try hard to be cheerful.
This is a v. fun place to take your kids and is v. much geared towards them which is a rarity in Central London. However, it is also an expensive treat. Agree with a lot of what has been said about the food - it’s fine and functional but not spectacular.
definitely one for children, too noisy, too expensive for me - take plenty of paracetamol. Our children, who were actually quiet even though it noisy although they loved all the jungle noises. The food isn’t wonderful, overpriced, we wont be visiting the cafe again - only the shop.
