This certainly is 'the right plaice’ if your looking for great tasting fish and chips.true the batter can be a little greasy sometimes but its still very tasty.prices might seem a little steep on your first visit but you do pay for quality.

Definitely the best fish & chips in town! They even have a few tables & chairs if you want to eat in.

Was a great place however the last few times I’ve been there the food has been a bit too greasy. It’s a little on the expensive side

The Right Plaice is one of the best chip shops in Darlington, the food is consistently tasty and the prices are reasonable. The portions aren't massive, but just the right size so you're not overly full.

If you want top quality fish and chips, go here. Trust me, I used to work in a chippy so know what makes real good fish and chips. This place prides itself on everything being made to order and being of the best quality, and the truth is in the taste. You do pay a little more than most average chip shops but its not enough to make you frown. The staff are lovely and the man (who you have to shout at coz is half deaf) frys away like its his passion! The shop itself hasnt been open as long as most chip shops so all their cooking equipment is brand new, and I think this adds to their quality. Fish and chips of a high standard! I can smell the salt and vinegar now!
