Bulgarian food itself is delicious and should be more famous. It is fresh and tastes home made, with love. You can have a dish to yourself or share several things, tapas style. This is a lovely, cosy place where you can relax and not feel rushed. The service is warm, friendly and helpful (for example, they will tell you if they feel you order more than you can manage). Really fast service is perhaps not the priority here. It’s more a place for taking your time and meeting friends.

I've been there thousands of times. The food is terrific and extremly delicious. Such a great atmosphere in that cosy place. These guys always keep their smile on the face and make sure the clients feel good and comfortable all the time. You won't wait longer than 10 to 15 minutes for the meals unless they are really busy. They got variety of some traditional russian and bulgarian and cuisine. The menu is rich of salads, soups and appetizers. They got as well some of the best crepes and baguettes I've ever tasted. You can try tradional bulgarian brandy which is called "rakia" and varieties of the best bulgarian wines. On the mornings they prepare bulgarian breakfast which should not be missed. The coffee there is at high level and coctails are good enough. A small restaurant full with love and spirt. GO THERE - YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED !!!!

i've been here twice. the first time i had lovely pelmeni ("creation 2") that were served with arugula, tomatoes and creme freche that was well worth the 5.40 i paid. my companion had one of the clay pot creations and also enjoyed it.
the second time, for breakfast, i had omelette #2 that was fairly bland, but also had the kjopolu (roasted eggplant and red pepper spread) starter which was delightful. my companion had the small bulgarian breakfast which was bread dipped in egg batter and fried ("french toast" to you americans- but not sweet) with some sliced meats and cheeses. it was also tasty. the service was very friendly, but also very slow, and our coffee was long gone before the food arrived.
all in all, i'd go back for the prices and stick to the pelmeni and bulgarian starters as long as i wasn't in a hurry.
also, menu in english available.

I can not believe this was one of the last places I visited. It one amazing place. It's a tiny little place tucked amongst the crazy corner of Simon-Dach Str. and Boxhangener Str. It's a bulgarian owned place and you get it. You really feel like you've been transported there and grandma bulgaria is preparing you some delicious and tasty food.
I went with my husband and best friend who are foodies like me. He ordered a massive salad. It came topped with so many well-chopped fixings. If you eat salads in Berlin, then you would really appreciate this one for the fresh quality, which is often difficult to come by in Berlin. We all shared a big mixed dip/appetizer plate and it was FABULOUS. Like any of the mediterranean and eastern restaurants, these mixed plates (gemischter vorspeisers) are so many different flavors packed. They always fill you up, although you never expect it to.
Then my friend and I shared god knows what, but amazing. Some ratatouile combined with tomatoes, with amzing spices. It was basically ultra thin aubergine (eggplant), zuchinni, onions, etc baked with tomatoes with a subtle taste of flavors that are not over powering.
It has less than a dozen tables, but it's always full. I hope you get a seat. It's well worth the extremely cheap and delicious food you will get.

i enjoyed my meal here, with the mixture of bulgarian and russian choices making a nice change from the usual offerings. I had a nice sheeps cheese and herb on toast starter and the Pelmeni which were stuffed with flavour - you'll want to make good use of the Crème fraîche to take the edge off the spicy assault on the tastebuds.
I noticed that the bulgarian/russion specials link on the website isn't working , which is always difficult when like me, you don't want to rely on your dodgy german and like to translate in advance - a bit of poking around found it @ http://www.primaria.de/sites/Karten/bulg_russ_spz.html.html . Note: the prices have moved from those quoted, probably the reason it's been disappeared from the website.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Friedrichshain. Try their appetizers. We usually get the combo, which is a good mix of eggplant paste, a goat cheese dip, marinated eggplant, cauliflower and zucchini, served with a side of toast. The entrees are outstanding. Many are one-bowl meals with a hearty mix of tomatoes, potatoes, and spices. Today I had the potato Vareniki (potato pelmeni), in white wine cream sauce. Prices are really reasonable, and I think the portion size is just right for a full, but not over-full feeling. Service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy.

a terrific value and fantastic food from a bulgarian kitchen. my group got a large sampler starter plate which was delicious. between that and the yummy borscht, i couldn’t even finish my main course. i tried a sampling of everyone else’s food and it was all tasty except for the salmon (which i don’t recommend anywhere in this city anyway).
they have a rather extensive menu for such a small place. i plan to return to try breakfast and lunch. the prices are so low i don’t even want to say anything else about it because i’m afraid they’ll change them!

I have passed by this little restaurant a few times and never went in but today that all changed… This is a little Bulgarian restaurant but they also serve a few Russian dishes and Crêpes… I tried the Russian dumplings (Pelmeni) with pork filling. They were absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to go back and try more things at this great place!!!
