Bibi’s used to be good, but has, for far too long now, relied on it’s once prestidgious reputation. Average food, poor service and very expensive for no passion in their cooking. People go here out of fashion, because it ain’t for the food!

I really wanted to love this place - the decor is great, all sparkly! But and maybe it was my own fault for not ordering typical Italian - you know ‘when in Rome’ and all that. But still if they serve it, it should be good and it was just ok and VERY expensive.

The staff where lovely, although (and in some ways it did add to the atmosphere) Italy where playing in the football (which was on the big screens) and all the staff where shouting and cursing almost any time any one from any team touched the ball. It just all fell sour when they lost, including the behaviour of the staff, you could almost feel them wanting to go home and just have you out, our deserts had only just arrived when one of them came over and asked if we where having coffee as they where turning the machine off, then when we did they decided to pack the place up, stacking the chairs on the tables etc while we where still sitting there. I know it was late and they where all upset but to be fair this is their job and at the premiums they charge you kinda expect a little bit more than to be shown the door.

But that’s not the main reason I gave it three stars the food just wasn’t anywhere near up to scratch for the money they charge.

Bibis is a large popular Italian restaurant not far from the station. The style of the building is very much Art Deco and the interior, mirrors and general décor complement it well.

The food and service are both good, they have several menus with typical Italian dishes including calamari, pizza, pasta, ribs, steaks and sword fish. They have some less typical things like Barbary duck roll with mango sauce, prawn cocktail, and Scottish oak-smoked salmon, suckling pig. Puddings include Tiramisu, profiteroles, Zuppa Inglese (not soup - trifle!), fruit salads and ice cream.

The Menu Della Casa has a set menu for £12.50 and 3 courses for £15.50; the A la Carte menu the starters range from £5.50-8.50; the mains from around £10-18.

If you want more than just food, they have a cocktail bar and several times a month they have special musical events like show bands and tribute acts - you need to book for these.

The decor, food and service are all good. If you like Italian food, or enjoy live music, you could do a lot worse than try Bibis.

Spent many a good evening at BIBI’s, even before they moved to the new location. Food is consistently good which says a lot. Restaurant is usually busy even if it is big. Wine menu is lovely and service is good but not in your face. Somewhere I would recommend to friends and always return to.

the food is good! they actually had one halal chiken dish on the menu aswell which was great! bit expensive but good for an occasion

Fantastic restaurant in sumptous surroundings, Bibis restaurant in Leeds city centre is somewhere that is sure to impress a first date. Attentive service coupled with mouth watering Italian dishes makes you want to return for more. Great for a special occasion but the only downside is you cannot book in advance so on weekends you have to be prepared to wait for a table.

Fabulous art deco style restaurant and cocktail bar. Absolutely packed on a Saturday night. You request a table when you go in and they give you a pager that flashes and buzzes when your table is ready and you can relax and enjoy the cocktails. Really varied menu and food was tasty. Would like to go again on a slightly quieter night as I think it would have an equally good but different feel to it. They do live jazz some nights too. Great place to start the night.

We were a party of 20 - hen party. We booked which is a good idea as the place was buzzing. First time I have ever been to a restaurant that offered everything. Exciting ambience, fantastic welcome, good seating, excellent service and to top it all amazing cuisine/wine choice. When I rang the restaurant I advised them that we were a party of hens (all wearing blonde wigs) they said check out our website we welcome hen parties! They sure did as we had a great laugh with all the staff and every single member of our party said it was by far the best restaurant they had been to for a long time. In addition one of our party has food allergies and the Head Chef simply asked for a list of all the things that she could not have and cooked my friend a wonderful meal. She was so pleased as obviously suffering from food allergies does limit your choice of meal/restaurant and can spoil your evening. Not this restaurant. They went out of their way to make sure that our evening was fabulous. Well thank you Bibis - it was! If you have never been to Bibis - then my advice - go! If you just fancy a drink at their well stocked bar/cocktail bar then go! Jo 26/11/07

City centre location,beautiful large restaurant serving excellent food. Also has cafe sociaty where you can meet friends for drinks.Also every month live Caberat shows.

Bibi's is a slightly OTT place with lots of mirrors and sparking stuff not far from the station. I had a most amazing steak here wrapped in bacon as I recall, and the service is fairly good. Overpriced for Leeds though. It's pretty massive so you should have no problems getting a table.
