This is a great Trail to go cycling or running. My favourite ride is from Mapperley (where I join it) through to Trent lock (Long Eaton). I have never actually measured it but judging by my cycling speed and other routes I have cycled I am guessing it is about 11 miles each leg so 22 miles return. It is an easy ride as it follows the canal bank for the majority- a very picturest and the majority of it peaceful without interruption of car engines etc!!! It is good to do in a group- there are plenty of watering houses on the way and the end destination also has a couple of great pubs where you can get a bite to eat/ have a drink!Good for Kids to join in with too!
