Berghain is always the last stop of a night. And I only end up there if it is a truely loooooong night! It’s one of the few remaining places of the raw industrial “techno” Berlin of the mid 90ies.

It’s nothing for the faint-hearted though. If you go there, go there for party. Go there early or - even better - go there late as they like to build up queues outside. Beverage prices are still pretty moderate compared to the average in Berlin’s club scene.

Cameras are not allowed inside…so imagine…or just go there to find out. ;-)

if you are looking for the real techno / house sound of berlin, this is the wrong place, you better go to tresor club - true techno for true people, ever since. if you use(d) to listen to commercial music and you just want to tell your friends about these parties that last days because everyone thinks something might happen until sunday evening - this berghain thingy is the place.

OMG!!!
to follow up my fellow qyper and daytime party animal sophie's opening words-

Yes this is the only way to begin to discribe this club

I come from Sydney offically the worlds Gayest city and have been missing my dark trashy seedy electro dens filled with drug loved crazy cocks in frocks and your general selection of misfits, clubbers, fag hags and people of the night.

The bouncers are intense and there is a very police worthy pat down on entering the club for contraband (cameras mainly I think- an no you can not bring your Iphone in) they checked every pocket on you.
But once your inside, the time spent queing is a thing of the past and you don't even midn the 12euro entry- this place is simply heaven for clubber alike- I haven't been to a club in years that's made me want to misbehave and go back to my clubbing day roots-Best friends are made in minutes- drags, fags, international party boys and girls, fag hags, ravers and a plethora of tattooed and pierced folks.

Inside is clubbing greatness in the making... Hard Electro with eye wobbling lazers shows on the second floor for all those taking disco treats- and a more dark and progressive electro room on the top floor, throw in several chill out areas and two very social co-ed bathrooms, a art gallery and a gelato bar and you have a party wonderland that'll keep you happy and going for days (If you have the energy)
Even though this place is packed it's still easy to buy a drink at the bar- the toilets are the dirtiest things around with usually more then one person in them at a time- there are no mirrors (Thank god!) and the lines are gratefully short. One funny thing we discovered were dark rooms on the first floor hooking up? gay cruising? (seriously) a dark purple hued labyrinth with tiny semi closed off cubicles and dark corners and spaces in which to melt away in with someone if you so choose- I personally wouldn't recomend lurking about here unless your with someone...

We came in the morning at 7am and despite saying we were only going to probably party for 3-4 hours we ended up staying for a good 9-10 hours (I think we sat for only 1 hour of that time...if even) We never made it to the tattoo convention which is what brought us to Berlin in the fist place.

TIPS-

Don't come in a big group if you don't think all of your party will get in.
Dress for fun, dancing and comfort
-Oh and don't slide down three sets of banisters on your exiting the club (as I did) it's fun but you realise two hours later that your tee-shirt is black and your not sure how or why it became this way.

This is Germany's electro scene- this is what I've been waiting for!
Can't wait to go back!!

Oh my god, fantastic...That´s the first thing that comes up in my mind when thinking of Berghain.
Berlin´s underground club scene meets industrial dark electro meets extreme crowd on drugs meets a neverending party.

We´ve been told to go here on a Sunday morning (yes..in the morning), and they couldn´t have been more right. After waking up at 7, we found ourselves standing in queue at 8 o´clock in the morning...And that´s not uncommon. Inside it´s packed..:)

The bouncers look like your worst nightmare so make sure to act cool. Inside, no camera´s are aloud, and you won´t find any mirrors (no worries about makeup what so ever..). The toilets are multifunctional, no gender difference.

The crowd is what makes the club; old/young, gay/drag, international, tattoo/pierced ect. A great mixed atmosphere, and everybody is eachothers new friend.

The chill out / dark room area downstairs has a magnificent collection on photo(-porn)graphy, and there´s a icecream lounge upstairs. The main bar on the first floor reminds you of the Roman Empire and the second floor looks a bit like an old warehouse.

The music..well, if you´re a lover of underground electro/techno...You´ll probably end up in heaven.

Don´t forget to dress up, nothing is too extreme as you find people wearing nothing but a thong and high heels, men in skirts, and girls with purple hearcuts.

This is by far one of the best venues I´ve ever been to..!

Tip: Don´t go there in a group..And be happy if you get in, they refuse lots...
