Real Foods is very overpriced: most of the products are available in other shops - often even regular supermarkets - for very much less. The staff are often rude and helpful. I’ve tried both stores several times, because I like to support smaller, independent businesses. But I won’t shop here again; the experience is too unpleasant and the costs are unjustified.

This is a nice health food store with a range of organic and fair trade as well. There are various ecological toilettries, and a nice feature is the community notice board where people can advertise rooms for rent, and whatever they want. There is a student discount if you show your student card. Real Foods also have another branch in Edinburgh, on Brougham St, Tollcross.

Real Foods provide natural and organic foods, a very healthy place to shop. It satisfies all of your specialised organic food needs. From fresh fruit and veg to tins, jars, cheeses and natural food bars. Prices are good for what you're buying but such quality food is never cheap!

The Broughton Street outpost of Real Foods is well laid-out and packed with the kind of stuff you'd expect - organic pasta, goji berries, bottled blueberries, fair trade chocolate, aloe vera juice, filo wraps, samosas & smoothies...There are boxes of organic fruit & veg outside on the pavement, and more in the fridges through the back. While a lot of the branded stuff is darned pricy, the own-label bags of organic dried fruit, nuts & grains are actually much cheaper than the supermarkets. Plus you get to give your money to a friendly suntanned youth in a bandana.
