We have just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted a different place to go and eat. This restaurant certainly lives up to the hype, entertaining and engaging. An experience I will not forget in a while, the food was amazing and the additional sensory involvement just added to the overall enjoyment. Would I go again, maybe, in another 10 years.

Absolutely stunning restaurant where you'll experience wonderful culinary sights, smells and tastes like nothing you've tried before. The man behind the restaurant, Heston Blumentahl, for years was a relatively unknown quantity. Recently though he's come out into the spotlight and for example has his own TV series. he's reknowned for his scientific approach to cooking, having his very own laboratory where weights & measures, bunsen burners and dry ice assist in the cooking process. If that all sounds very clinical, then the result is not. Heston combines all kinds of tastes, scents and flavours to create some of the most extraordinary dishes. Snail porridge is fast becoming the signature dish, but other fascinating ones include scallop tartare with white chocolate and caviar plus strawberries with leather purée & pistachio scrambled egg. You certainly come away feeling like your taste buds have been given a work out!

The restaurant itself is a converted village cottage, with low ceilings and beams, in the most unassuming (albeit affluent) village. So sightly off the beaten track, but absolutely worth the 20 mile trip out from London. Its no wonder this was voted the world's best restaurant a few years ago

Hey, the Fat Duck is expensive (£100 a head) but you have tasted nothing like the food you. You will also talk about a meal here for an awful long time. Snail risotto is bright green but tastes great - they play with your eyes, smell and taste.
