I have only stayed in this hotel once and it was the epitome of luxury. I am a huge architecture freak, and loved the building, with its grand entrance and high ceilings.

The rooms are exquisite with large, soft beds with high quality duck and downs duvets. There is a tv, arm chairs, a coffee table, a desk and your own private mini bar.

I was taken here for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. The hotel bathroom was as big as my bathroom at home and I really enjoyed being able to chill out and relax.

Ah, Quebec's. I've had some great and shocking times here, but I can't help but remember it through rose-tinted glasses. You'll love this place for the luxurious beds, long pile carpets, sweeping open staircase, oak-paneled drawing room complete with honesty-bar, free champagne receptions on Wednesdays... the fresh orchid left on your pillow with a hand-written note was also a nice touch. The service, however, was a bit too much like fawlty towers to give it 5 stars. When things were good, it was bliss, however - don't expect the staff to be able to process a refund if they get your booking wrong (I gave up after a year), or to move you if they have a solvent disaster in the restaurant below (was nearly asphyxiated). However, time is a great healer, and now I don't really think about the those things, and just remember the pillows...
