Little Ho's bakery sells amazing cake! I dont even know what its called but its two different colours with cream in the middle!! You must try some if you're passing through!! I like China Town, As the person before me said there is the random gate "thing" but it looks nice, and the little garden enxt to it is a nice enough little area with benches. All of the restaurants smell gorgeous and there are some arcade type places too. If youre visiting Manchester i would recommend having a little wander, it wont take you that long! Of course Chinese New Year is a sight to be seen with all the dragons and bright colours!

As one of our European cousins has so aptly put "Die Atmosphäre" is "einfach super". The big pretty gate thing that china towns have to have is impressive, more so than London's perhaps, but not as good as Liverpool's. But then Liverpool's chinatown is rubbish... the only reason their "gate thing" is so big is that if it were smaller then someone would nick it.
Anyway yeah, Manchester's chinatown is a quaint little square surrounded by delicious-smelling restaurants and smokey casinos. Also a couple of really interesting asian supermarkets.
I've even heard rumours that it is a hotspot for underage hookers but I never found any.
There is a handy Natwest cashpoint on the corner and a bakery called "Little Ho's" (which, come to think of it, is probably where the rumours started...).
