That’s it: Cap Finisterre, the perfekt place to relax after weeks of hiking through the north of Spain. Finisterre is a really small village with winding streets and a gigantic beach where you’ll find loads of scallops. There are fishermen repairing their nets in the front of their houses in the sinking sun.
It’s an old legend that you are supposed to swim in the ocean, burn some of your clothes worn on the Camino and finally watch the sunset from the Cap - and you’ll wake up as a new person.
I’m not shure whether I’m someone new now, but it was defenitely an awesome evening….sitting there on the rocks with friends, having a picnic and talking till you’re almost frozen up.
Afterwards you can go back to town where small boozers with traditional Spanish live music till dawn are a perfect finish of the day.
If you’d like to experience Cap Finisterre in a special way sleep at the beach! There are a few nice places on the lee shore but a down sleepingbag is needed anyway (even in summer!), as well as some blankets!
