Hotel ALTSTADT VIENNA

What a special place. It felt more like having an apartment in Wein, except we had servants! The room was modern, clean and quiet. The staff was exceptional and friendly. The overall feeling of the place was utterly unique in our travel experience.

It is well situated, a short walk to the "Ring", and an easy walk for an evening meal under the stars at Palmenhaus. A short distance to multiple venues for live music.

And, as I indicated previously, it is NOT a cement bunker hotel with no soul. Hotel Altstadt has soul.

We have had an office in Vienne for 10 years now and I regularly come here. Back then I was looking for a hotel nearby and found this hotel. I always get a place in the Altstadt. For me, it's THE hotel in Vienna. Personal service, great rooms and suites, cosy evening near the fire place, 7th canton, perfect!

It's rare that you will need to stay in a hotel as a "local" - and therefore I only know the "Altstadt Vienna" from "foreigners". For years now, the standard has continuously been dessribed as exceptional. Each colleague, business partner and friend to whom I have recommended the "Altstadt Vienna" has talked enthusiastically about the atmosphere, the service and the whole charisma of the hotel and was grateful for the recommendation. Result: Even today I can only recommend the "Altstadt Vienna" again as my impression has been consolidated even more.

A bit of an unusual entrance through the stairwell. You have to search for the lift and the reception. The hotel is recommendable. Located about 15 minutes on foot or 2 Km from the Stephansdom. In the same street is an Italian restaurant, about 300 metres away which is very recommendable. The rooms are nicely designed and the personnel seems very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is exceptional good - therefore 5 stars.

Our stay in the Hotel Altstadt was beautiful - someone put in some effort to place a bit of 'art'. A beautiful/quaint combination - not the usual clean BestWesternHiltonhotel atmosphere but still genuine identification with the 'building'. Reception was very kind and helpful - and the reception had incredibly tasty, traditional Manner-candies (no, no-one minds if you take a few with you :))... we stayed in the Library Suite - a beautifully spacious room for the three of us - really plenty of space, that's how we like it! Result: a wonderfully pretty-quaint, friendly, relaxed hotel!

Although we 'only' booked a double room classic, it was very beautifully designed... the hotel is a pretty art nouveau building with very stylish ambiance. The personnel is very friendly and attentive - the manager himself helped during breakfast. Every room is distinguished thanks to its individual design and is adorned with paintings and pictures. Free internet access, coffee, tea, home made cake for the guests in the afternoon... all to feel comfortable...

Very individual hotel which is barely recognisable as such from the outside. The centrally located old building gives an incredibly calming flair and the entire concept, the personnel, the rooms, breakfast etc. improve the stay more and more. I can simply recommend this hotel and hope it wasn't the last time I stayed here. Surely the website is also worth a visit which convinced me to come here since this hotel is truly different in a positive way from any other hotel.
