This is a great park in the centre of London. It is so big it takes forever to walk round it. Even walking through it takes quite a while. DUring spring and summer its lovely as you can sit in the park reading a book or have a picnic with friends. I can spend a whole day there just reading and enjoying the scenary. I missed the winter wonderland last christmas but will look forward to it this year. I saw the posters everywhere but just couldn’t find the time to go. The best thing about this park is that its free. You can go there anytime just to sit around and do whatever you want to do. You will also see all kinds of people there - kids playing, adults cycling or having a picnic. everyone enjoys themselves there.

For a City, London is great for offering the most open space parks and Hyde Park is huge. Big enough to enjoy the peace and tranquility or if you’re looking for something a bit more lively, check out Speaker’s Corner on Sundays where people will vent their opinions and you can join in, not for the feint hearted. It has everything a park could offer. A great cafe by the Serpentine where you can float away the hours in a hire boat.

Probably the best outdoor area on London. Rent boats on The Serpentine, hang around the historical Speakers’ Corner, ice skate on the outdoor rink (in winter), or just picnic and fly a kite in the beautiful grounds. A great place to go and really get away from the hustle and bustle of London.

The largest of the Royal London parks, Hyde Park is a sprawling open space with many hidden areas to explore. if you want noisy you can have, if you desire seclusion with peace and just the birds for company then thats what you will also find. Its a wonderful place to simply stroll, people watch and grab a very expensive cup of tea or coffee and a cake. Ive lived in London for 40 years and Hyde Park never ceases to surprise and delight me.

Is one of the biggest parks in London if not the biggest! Here you will find peace and tranquility! You will be able to enjoy sports as well as rowing! Or you could just sit around and admire nature itself. Right in the middle of London you can esily get to it!

Hyde Park is a very large area of grass with a pond in the middle :D but it is great. It is often quite packed in the summer, but if you walk far away enough from the main entrances you'll find a deserted area. Summer also brings various festivals to the park and also the pedalos are open- which are not good value for money but are very fun. It is a great place to have a picnic and also a great place to just sit and observe. There are often various groups that set up such as a roller blading group trying to clear cones or a breakdancing group..just.....having a dance i suppose.

Apart from the famous speakers corner Hyde park really is good place to spend a few hours when you get fed up of the inner city life. You can hire a deck chair and watch the world go by, the Serpentine lake has its own high end modern art gallery and café, you can hire a boat and head onto the water or if you are really brave you can join the Serpentine swimmers and go for a dip first thing in the morning – not advised for the faint hearted!! If none of that takes your fancy you can even hire a horse of have a riding lesson (not cheap though). Apparently you can even get people to teach you to roller-ski!!! If you do head to Hyde park, make sure you check out the monument on Park Lane to dedicated to Animals in War, it is a great sculpture and really poignant, simply saying “They had no choice”.

Hyde is one of the world's primary parks for many, many reasons and it really is a must for any tourist visiting. This is especially true in the summer, when the park is alive with people of all ages sunbathing, waterfighting and generally living it up, and autumn, when the leaves turn yellow, gold and brown - making for a really memorable walk. Situated right in the heart of West-Central London, the expanse is massive and you will not be able to see everything the park offers in one day, although one visit should be plenty to have a fantastic day. Choose from boating, walking or ice-skating (in the winter) or book tickets for one of the parks many festivals. There are lots of little gems strewn around the park but it's more fun to find them yourselves, so I won't say where!

How can you not love Hyde Park? It’s huge, green, free, fairly central, beautiful … the accolades could go on and on. This park is a wonderful place for a picnic, mindless meander or just about any outdoor activity you can imagine and provides a much needed break from the urban grind.

Hyde Park is a British classic and so it should be. Large rolling lawns spotted with sun chairs in summer and windswept and desolate in winter, wilder areas with huge old oaks and long grass creating some privacy and shady spots, a huge lake in the middle with a swimming area cordoned off – Hyde Park has everything you need for all times of the year. In addition it’s a handy short cut between Oxford Street; Kensington and Notting Hill! The Diana memorial is nice in summer to cool you feet and the Peter Pan statue is quaint. For a quick lunch break if you are in the area, a laidback picnic when you have time or a gentle stroll at any time, as part of your sight-seeing, Hyde Park is just lovely.
Keep your ear to the ground as there is often events in Hyde Park that are interesting to visit!

Hyde park is huge! Being a newcomer to London, and coming from a country with lots fo greenery, I was very impressed by he park- the amount of greenery, the lakes and multiple monuments to be found there. It has got to be a top attraction and hang out place, especially during summer! Just don't get lost there!

It's one of the most amazing parks I've been to as the view is mesmerizing and it's so calming to walk in this park during the day. The swans and ducks at the lake are rather friendly and always a pleasure to sit at the cafe and enjoy the wonderful sunset at the lake.

I go to this park every day and always find new things to see and interest me. It is the perfect place to walk the dog, play football or people watch. The park plays host to many events throughout the year so sometimes large sections are closed off but this hardly affects visitors due to size of the park. Each section has its own character. Speakers Corner is situated at the Marble Arch end which always attracts the crowds on a Sunday. The Diana Memorial is situated in the south west side which is an interesting diversion to a walk. Probably the best area is around the Serpentine lake where you can hire a boat.

This is by far the best park I've been to. It's huge and there is so much space to roam around in. There's a tree with a face in it and it smiles at me everytime I walk past. And There are atleast two ice cream vans parked up depending on the weather. This park is an excellent venue for summer festivals and there always seems to be a good atmosphere. Go for a stroll here when you're wanting to escape the ever growing human traffic of the big city, for it will seem like there are more trees than people. Think of the park scene from '101 Dalmations', where Pongo first meets Perdi and you'll get the nice idea.

This is a great place to sit and relax. You can see lots of people there usually. It is a relatively simple park with trees, grass, a lake and a café. I sometimes just sit there with friends just chatting and having coffee or a drink looking at the people and the trees and flowers. Get a group of friends and play some foorball there. I also sometimes rollerblade there. You get to see all kinds of fantastic things there. During christmas there will be an ice skating ring there and its fantastic.

Honestly I never thought that i could ever spend so much time sitting in a park eating and relaxing; but when it's about Hyde Park, I would not be surprised. This park is enormous and the vast green carpet of nature is just a paradisiacal view especially for those that adore nature. I was around there one Saturday because I was meant to work but then the job was cancelled. I spent the whole afternoon eating and relaxing. I had the chance o think about so many things because of the quietness around it. Although this park is based in central London, it seems as if it is not affected by the busy traffic that you would usually expect. The area is ideal for quiet afternoons or if you want to have some time by your self. I consider it a great spot for artists such as painters or writers for a love novel. The place in the day light is romantic; I wonder how it would look like in the evening.

One of London's finest historic landscapes covering 142 hectares (350 acres). There is something for everyone in Hyde Park. With over 4,000 trees, a lake, a meadow, horse rides and more it is easy to forget you're in the middle of London. A perfect place for a picnick, for the more lazy or those in hurry there is a large range of restraunts... The park hosts various events on most weekends. It is extremly hard to get bored in this wonderful park!

Where else in London can one lie hidden in long grass with a book, while others picnic with friends, throw Frisbees, ride horses, explore palaces, row boats, go jogging, play volleyball or rollerblade, all of whom have enough space to themselves?

I have often sat, hungover, under a tree with a smoothie and a good book, watching the children feed the swans, dogs chasing squirrels, and groups of friends opening bottles of wine on a blanket. Hyde Park is both a haven for the active, and the inactive, the young and the old, the healthfreaks and the hungover, the social butterflies and the solitude-seekers, the dreamers and the thinkers.

Regardless of what you want to do or who you want to do it with (take that as you will), Hyde Park caters for you and your whims. Go and experience what I like to think of as the green heart of London.

Hyde Park is a big, confident park. The trees are big. The grassy bits are big. The lake is big (and famous). There’s big soldier types being ordered around and exercising. I used to go for evening running training sessions, and you’d hear them chanting and grunting off in the darkness. A simple path won’t do in Hyde Park. Instead there’s likely to be a big wide sandy track running alongside for the use of horses, mainly from a local riding stables. There’s runners, walkers and tourists all going about their business in a purposeful way.

With all that ‘big’ stuff around, Hyde Park might be intimidating, but it isn’t. Whatever you’ve come for, you can come and do your thing. Hyde Park isn’t bothered. It doesn’t need to be. It’s not the prettiest park, but if you want trees, grass, a lake and a café, then it’s got them.

One controversial feature is the Lady Diana Fountain. It’s sort of not what people think of as a fountain… It’s more a perpetual motion stream. Noise is almost more important than vision as the speed of water and obstacles in it’s path make different noises as you go round. I don’t think most people get that. There’s many people looking a little bemused! Ah well, I like it. It’s certainly different, but for me it works.

I love Hyde Park. When I first moved to London as touristy, poor, student there was nothing I liked more than going to Hyde Park on the bus and sitting under a tree looking all pretentious with a book and a coffee. In the summer (well, actually most of the year) there are hundreds of rollerbladers and in the winter you can ice skate! It's just one of those places where you can go and lose yourself for the afternoon or even the whole day. I also saw Bon Jovi play there and it was just amazing seeing them in this beautiful place.

Grab a starbucks and get down there!

Not being a london local i really apreciate one of the things london does expceptionally well and that is its parks. Hyde park is fantastic and the moment it is warm it is a great place to go to lie in the sun, walk run around or grab a bunch of friends for a bbq and game of football. I am looking forward to them turning it into a winter wonderland this xmas ill will definately be putting my skates on for that.
