Totally delicious. I experienced the Chef’s special, followed the waiters reference , and wrapped up off together with a wonderful ice cream dish .
Classic food preparation, served up in an unassuming dining area without a tremendous amount of fuss. Your meal definitely speaks by itself, and though non-meat eaters properly locate their choice quite limited, it’s a carnivore’s ecstasy. Several business-types here on a week day lunch break, but the natural environment was still being fairly casual.
Company was warm and friendly, attentive and viewed as without getting pushy or stuffy. Will unquestionably return try many of the a bit more audacious plates
Amazing place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The one in Chiswick is sometimes quite quiet but the food is excellent and the staff have always been really friendly and helpful. They have been known to mix and match an order before. Also amazing BBQ sauce! Definitely one to go to!

Balans is a great place to meet up with friends for brunch, or a drink, or casual dinner. I meet up with friends for brunch there a couple of times a month and we've always had a good time. The staff are awesome. They are super friendly and attentive with out hanging over you. The food is nice enough that you enjoy your meal, but not super fancy so its not expensive. The cocktails are delicious and the patio in summer is the perfect place to be.
Balans is a great place for a lazy lunch or a last minute dinner. It's upmarket enough to feel like a treat, but casual enough that you don't feel bad about wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
Lunch today was grilled chicken sandwich, with a massive portion of fries on the side. It was nothing groundbreaking, but it was tasty and filling. The fries were crispy, although some were a little stodgy inside.
In the past, I've also enjoyed the crab cakes, the scallops and the lamb. The starters are more interesting than the mains, although I think the best time to go is for brunch. The eggs benedict are yummy, and it's one of the few places where you can get proper American style pancakes.
Good place for a casual Saturday lunch. Been quite. Few times now and venue, food and service have all been consistently good without being too expensive. an added bonus on a sunny day is sitting on the large patio area out front, watching the world go by on Chiswick High Road. If what you want is a decent mid price lunch then this does the trick. Can’t comment on the evening side simply as I’ve not been yet.

I met a friend here for brunch during a weekday. While we were having a very late brunch (1pm!), the sign outside said breakfast available until 5pm but we were only handed the lunch menu. However, the breakfast/brunch menu is available if you ask. A large variety of Eggs Benedict available including one served with crab cakes which I opted for as something different. Lathered in hollandaise sauce, i’d probably ask for this on the side next time as there was so much of it, the poached eggs were done well and the crab cakes were quite tasty.
Great place for breakfasts and lunches. Nice to be able to sit outside when weather is good. Sometimes cold inside when door open though. Staff are always friendly and chatty. Huge menu, never easy to decide what to have!
Not at all impressed by Balans, we stopped for breakfast there one morning and it was pretty bland, not really fitting with the surroundings.
Service was also a little slow - although we did get a free coffee (which in hindsight was the last thing we needed after ordering large coffees with breakfast).
Overall, good interior, but slightly lacking in delivery.
The perfect place for a leisurely Sunday brunch. Balan’s has a relaxed and friendly vibe, and offers a fantastic selection of breakfast favourites including three types of pancake, six types of eggs benedict, plus a great selection of teas and coffees.
I would recommend the banoffi pancakes: two large, gorgeously fluffy buttermilk pancakes served with banana in a dulce de leche-style sauce. Incredibly tasty and incredibly filling! Staff are very friendly and accommodating, and when the sun is out the large outdoor seating area is ideal.
After living in Chiswick for 12yrs it was lovely to finally see a place open where you could sit either inside in a warm very friendly modern atmosphere or outside taking in the sunshine and buzz of chiswick high road. The food they offer for Chiswick makes a lovely change…exciting, colourful and certainly tickled my taste buds..the breakfast pancakes with maple syrup and chorizo where to die for….
I was really happy to see balans appear...breakfast or brunch is a real treat, blueberry pancakes with crispy bacon and a really well made cup of tea,Gets busy on a sunday morning.
Dinner is lovey too,i would recomend the fish and chips and crab cakes.
They have specials on the drinks early evenings,2 4 1 cocktails stuff like that, all in all a great place to hang out.
Nice addition to the Chiswick dining scene - one of the few places in the area that maintains some kind of buzz late into the evening. Food is always fresh & with a twist with dishes such as cajun crab cakes, seared duck breast and asparagus risotto. Great for brunch & lunch too. Modern contemporary interior with large outside dining area to the front. Staff are friendly and efficient.
