Well on the way Nafiul announced his retirement from SGS FaGS, probably because this mission didn’t involve deep fat fryers. So off me n zee trotted, I got lost on the way but eventually met up with my bearded comrade at the entrance. Upton first stepping in the mammoth supermarket my mind was wizzing with excitement.
After evaluating the café (flopp, don’t go there unless you are a builder) we checked out the rest of the place. As you would expect it had everything from tea to TVs and failed to disappoint. I left with a bargain on cookies and milk which was one of the best lunches I’ve had this year

If you are in a rush and need bits and pieces, such as you have run out of milk, shampoo, jam, etc. or didn’t get the chance to have breakfast, this is the place to shop. It has almost everything you would need for a weekly grocery shop in the heart of the city at reasonable prices (ie not convenient shop prices). It seems to be open almost 24/7 which is change for most of the shops in the area.

tesco eastcheap is such a great shop. It's where I buy my dinners and alcohol from, and sometimes my snacks too. As soon as you walk in, you're presented with the krispy creme donut stand - I hate krispy creme donuts, so I'm immediately lured further into the store to search for more tasty treats. One ailse further and you arrive at the ready meals chiller - more deals than you can deal with, ranging from two for one on healthy living, to buy two for £5 on tesco finest (my favourite). Having stocked up on these, you can do a 180 and continue directly on to the alcohol (covered later), or go straight ahead and left for cheese or right for fish. The selections here aren't as good as the ready meals, but enough to satisfy you if you've got a hankering for either. Fruit and veg are next - not a great choice again, overpriced and not very fresh compared to borough market. The tomatoes are as thick skinned as londoners themselves. Tinned pasta sauces are handled comprehensively, with a wide variety of pestos, and delicious jars of tapenade next to them. There are sometimes good deals on fruit juices, although these are a more than a bit hidden, located on the corner next to the veg. Toiletries and household goods are poor - use Boots next door to stock up. To save lugging it around the narrow-ish ailes, get the booze last. There's plenty, with loads of real ales (and 3 for £5 deals), great half pricers on wine, and the recommended tesco finest gin for an unbelievable £10.50 a litre!! Don't forget the limes! On your way back to the tills, you can choose from a very wide selection of biscuits, including my favourites florenties (like brandy snap discs dipped in belgian chocolate), and half chocolate coated tesco finest ginger biscuits. When you get to the queues, go for the self service - deceptively large at first, but remember to divide by three! Forget the cigarette counter unless you've less than 5 items, as they do get miffed at 7 or more.. All checkouts accept cards, with the manned tills doing cashback too. There's also a cashpoint outside if you both forget. If you choose these, you'll be given the opportunity to turn down a sports equipment for schools voucher by the usually friendly but tragically downtrodden staff, who often neglect to pack your bags for you. It's best to serve-self and be out in a jiffy. Be prepared to dodge the trolley boys tho, who hurtle in and out of the front doors with more momentum than they can manage. However, all in all, much better than Sainsbury's, or anywhere else in the area.
