Tower Bridge is both iconic and stunning. Wonderful for locals and tourists, it’s a beautiful piece of architecture on London’s landscape.

It’s very easy to get to from either London Bridge tube/rail station or Tower Hill/Tower Gateway tube. Connected to the Tower of London, it makes fantastic photographs a fun way to walk across the river. If you want to pay, you can go through the Tower Bridge Experience, which I think lets you walk around the top for a panaramic view of London. Personally, I like the free option of meandering across the bridge at a stroll and taking lots of pictures.

The views from the bridge are spectacular combine this with the history behind the bridge and also the wonderful tours and is a great spot for taking photos of the surrouding area. Only bad thing i can say about it is that during the day time it can be unbelievably busy so i would reccomend visiting at night.

ps: i have created a short animation for this review involving the qype ninja jumping the bridge on his new ninja cycle (a motorbike based on a chopper) in the video their is some spoken dialog which was created using a text to speech program becuase of this its quite hard to understand so i reccomend reading the script below before/after you watch the video.

script:

This is the qype ninja reporting from tower bridge London. AS you can see the view from the bridge is spectacular especially during the day time There is also a fantastic tour called the london bridge experience which conists of you going inside the tower and ascending to the walk ways where you can take fulladvantage of the views by using the telescopes provided. The top of the tower is a great spot to take some pictures of the surrouding areas and if your a photographer then this truly is a dream spot for taking some wide angle shots. This has been a video review by lord bulldog.

I love Tower Bridge. Its excellent. Not only is it a wonderful monument, but you can do other things like Tower Bridge experience. When the bridge opens, that is just amazing. I have been lucky enough to witness it open and its wonderful. If you go on a boat ride along the Thames, you get up close to the bridge which is great.
Its not that expensive either to have a great day out.

The bridge was a magnificent structure to behold. It still performs its drawbridge trick perfectly even though it only opens a few times a week. Apparently, this victorian bridge is more than 100 years old. You get a view of London when you get to the top of the bridge.

I visited the “Tower Bridge Experience” recently and it cost £6 which I thought was pretty good; children are £3 and you can get hold of 2 for 1 offers quite easily at the moment. The security is understandably high with an airport style bag checker on the way in. There is a lift inside one of the towers that goes up to the pedestrian walkways which are now covered in glass. There are educational films to watch at the top of both towers, with pay-per-view telescopes and fabulous views on the walkways between. Not sure how good it is with disabled access, we had to go down a lot of stairs to get to a loo with my desperate toddler which wasn’t easy but they can’t exactly change the design of this iconic historical buiding. The engine roooms were very educational too and thoroughly enjoyable. Our visit lasted about an hour. Enjoyable in lots of different ways and great value.

This has got to be one of the most recognised landmarks of London. It looks spectacular from any angle, particularly good if you are admiring it from another bridge! Both pedestrians and drivers can travel along it and every now and then it’s a spectacle to watch the mechanics at work as it opens to let a tall ship pass. A truly magnificient piece of architecture and pretty special at night.

Think London-think Tower Bridge.
It really doesn't matter how awful the weather is, it is always a good time to go and see the Tower Bridge. Obviously, the nearer the river you are, the stronger the wind is, however, it gives you a great feeling of freshness. It is also a good way to wake up;)
Tower Bridge looks absolutely stunnind during the night with all its lightings. You really shouln't miss it

I remember first time I saw Tower bridge last year and I couldn't believe it! I had got one of the boats from Greenwich and as soon as I saw the bridge I was awe-struck! As we headed underneath it, I sat there with my mouth open, it was like something out of a fairytale!
I have since walked across it many times but have yet to see it pull up from the middle to let taller boats through, but I think you can go on the net to find out when those times are. Apparently it used to moved 20-30 times a day, but nowadays only 2-3 times a day.

Tower Bridge must be one of the most iconic monuments in London. It makes a great backdrop for photos on the riverbank. I guess living in London you get a bit blasé about things like this… but it impressive! It’s an occasional source of annoyance to drivers, as it is, of course, a draw bridge. That means occasionally it will be closed for traffic as the central span lifts up to allow boats through. This rarely happens though, and when it does, it’s done mainly at night. Be aware if you are driving this way at night you might find your path blocked. If you visit during the day and walk across, then look for the joins!

It is possible to visit the insides of the towers (including the Victorian engine room) and the two long rooms/walkways at the top, but being short on funds I never have. The South bank of the river at this point is only for those that fancy the walk. On the North side you’ve got the Tower Of London. Or on the other side of the bridge approach check out the St Katherine’s Dock area. This is home for quite a few rather posh boats and yachts, and the nice eateries etc that go with them. Very scenic in a marina kind of way.

As far as London Marathon goes… mentally for many this is the half way point on the course. It’s actually a bit short of that, but who wants to quibble. It certainly feels like good news to get there! It’s another hot point for the crowds (so again, if you are spectating and don’t like being crushed, you might want to avoid…). It’s also one of the places I got ‘done’ by the official marathon photographers, so be prepared to pose. Though prices are exorbitant… you may decide to settle for the small version of the picture from their website rather than pay!

You also go back past the end of the bridge and on past The Tower of London after the long loop out to Docklands. At that point, with only a few miles to go, it’s REALLY good news to see the Bridge!

I’ve also been on this bridge at the start of the Great Gorilla Run. That’s a 7km race with everyone in Gorilla costumes. Now that’s something worth turning out to see…

As I couldn’t decide where on the 26.2 mile London Marathon Course I should put a flag, I decided it would be better to split it up… so this is one of a series of reviews I’ve done on points along the course. For the full set search using the keyword ‘FLM’

I always loved tower bridge, looking at it and being near it reminds me of the true london....tower bridge is the most famous landmark in the world and a proud identity of london, but the best part of it is seeing the bridge open....when i was 18 i finally got to see tower bridge open and it was a memorable experience even after being a londoner!! I recommend everyone to visit the tower bridge for what it is and its true beauty.

Tower Bridge is just gorgeous, isn't it? Its one of my favorite spots in London. Definitely worth a stroll with your significant other or that special someone you want to be your significant other, at night.

Don't forget about the inside of the bridge- I had a university alumni event in the engine room inside the bridge, and it was fantastic- eating appetizers surrounded by huge gears, very interesting atmosphere.

Tower Bridge is best visited at night, where you can see the most spectacular view of London lit up. It has to be my favourite bridge in London without a doubt. You will find tourists a plenty here taking photos. Very romantic,

Tower Bridge it's another monument that falls under "my favourite bridges". The bridge is worth viewing when walking rather than by car. I walked it all and enjoyed the view of London, the river and the many professional buildings that always remind you of the activeness of London. The bridge it is without a doubt a must-see but even more its night view. I once saw it in the evening when going home by bus: the numerous lights in contrast with the dark make it a place of fantasy and magic. If you can, walk it, you will surely enjoy its full beauty. I like that bridge!!

I visited London Bridge at night and it was the most spectacular sight seeing it all lite up with thousands of lights. We walked along the river Thames and I can not describe how beautiful it was. I have seen London Bridge many times in my life but if certainly look incredable at night. I will definately go and see it again, maybe in the summer so we can sit and have a picnic by the river...and not get cold!!
