The Oriel Davies Gallery Cafe

The cafe is a small retro style area with wooden seats that make anyone uncomfortable after a while or so. The food and coffee is very overpriced but the cafe remains a good place for older ladies to meet and spend around ten pounds on a coffee and piece of cake. The gallery however is staffed by snotty individuals who will look down on anyone. The severn figure sum awarded to the gallery some years ago was heavily abused with massive amounts of public money wasted on 'personal taste’. Bespoke mechanical doors and finished walls were demolished after building primarily because the appointed manager at that time, purely didn’t like them. Should you decide to visit this drain on our resources, remember to arrive in a Rolls Royce and pretend to enjoy staring at odd coloured blobs on the walls and the so called modern art of today. This site will not allow me to leave my review without at least ticking one star above. Otherwise my rating would be in the minus figures…...

This is a small, friendly cafe, which being just inside the door of the Oriel Davies Gallery has a relaxed, arty feel to it. The coffee is really good and the service is excellent. They have yummy cakes but I did find that the food was a bit on the pricey side. Having said that, it is quality and the place is so small that they probably have to charge a bit more because of it.
