Worst haircut ever! Enter this salon at your peril. This salon should come with a health warning!

The salon is dark and dingy, probably so you cannot see the results immediately, the place was filthy and staff reclining on chairs drinking coffee. The towels were frayed and thread bear and rough. I was kept waiting for 45 mins . My hair was cut by a young blonde haired lady with thick rimmed glasses, she didn't introduce herself. I asked her to leave my hair long enough so that I can tuck behind my ears when I'm at work. I'm a nurse an it's essential to keep hair neat and tidy and out of the way. I also asked her to keep some length at the back. She appeared to understand, but then did the exact opposite. I now have very little hair and what is left is totally uneven and I'm extremely upset. It had taken me over a year to get it the right length and I had only asked her to tidy it up!

I wish I'd have read these reviews before I booked as I would never have gone...

This Salon does not even deserve one star- do not book to have your hair cut here. The staff are rude, the haircut they gave me took little under 20 minutes and I could have done a better job with blunt scissors and no mirror. She finished without once looking at my hair in the mirror- then said how's that? She did not show me the back or offer any products.
when I said well it's a bit boring a bit 'old ladyish' - I asked for more of a style. She said well what do you expect. If you want to keep the length all you can have s a few layers- then it's up to you to style it.
I was a bit shocked at her rudeness but then she went on to be rude to her next customer who had arrived. I helped myself to hairspray and went to pay. I was charged £55....art director price????? I said to the girl on the desk- you are joking? There was NO WAY I have had m hair cut by a director but she just looked at me blank as if I was speaking in a different language. I paid and said I will NEVER come back here. I should have refused but the atmosphere was threatening and hostile. Please whatever you do boycott this salon.

The worst haircut experience ever! The staff is rude, not interested in listening to you, just stand around chatting without any customer service in mind. They behave as if they are doing you a favour by attending to you!
When we gave feedback that the cut was much shorter than requested ( 2 inched became 6 inches), the staff were standing around smirking. The manager James looks extremely aggressive, and on feedback became abusive.

Please avoid this place at any cost- bad cuts, rude staff, insolent behaviour, zero customer service....DISGUSTING!

Deserves ZERO or negative stars, but that option is not there :(

I visited the salon on two seperate occasions with my twin daughters who both had the Groupon offer of Brazilian Blow dry, cut & half head hi-lites. After reading the reviews, I was a bit apprehensive, but it was totally unfounded. The staff were friendly, attentive and both stylists did a fantastic job. Both my daughters were extremely pleased with the results. On both occasions we were there for 4 hours, they discussed what they were going to do, recommended colours that would compliment my daughters natural hair colour and were attentive and friendly throughout the time we were there. As I was sitting by the front desk for a long period of time, I saw how they greeted their customers and they were friendly and polite either face to face or on the telephone, so I would recommend this salon and would certainly use them again.

 I had an appointment here this morning.  I  tried to show my Groupon code through the app on my phone (never a problem before) and was told quite bluntly that I would have to provide a printout. Unbelievably, I was then instructed to walk to the local library and print it out there! There was a queue for the computers and I didn't have the correct change for the printer. Couldn't face going back to sit in such an unwelcoming atmosphere for two hours so I just left. A good salon makes you feel welcome and relaxed, not stressed out and harassed. If only I'd read these reviews before buying.

The worst hairdressing experience I've ever had. I was made to wait 45 minutes while two hairdressers did each other's hair. When it was finally my turn I went straight to the back to get my hair washed meaning the hairdresser didn't see my hair dry before cutting it. When I sat down in the chair the mirror was so high up I couldn't see a single part of my head or hair. I'm not joking. The hairdresser told me it was a 'design flaw'. So I had an entire haircut completely blind - I couldn't see what she was doing the entire time. Once she was finished I had to stand upout of my chair to look at the haircut - which I obviously completely hated.

Terrible customer service, terrible haircut, awful place to be.

Worst hair cut experience I have ever had. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!
I wish i had read all of the other reviews on here before I went. I second all of the comments. Rude staff, kept waiting, cold water to wash my hair, no care given when brushing my hair, awful cut and finish. I looked so much worse when I left. I complained and they really couldn't have cared less. Very angry.

absolutely appalling ! made an appointment after booking a groupon , initially was told i had to book online , which i did , then having had my booking confirmed , recieved a call the next day to say that i couldnt have that appointment . Was given a new one at 8pm on a friday night , after a load of flannel from the receptionist . Phoned at 7.30 that evening to get directions and say i was on my way , got all the way there , only to be sat in my seat , have my jacket taken , and then told i would have to re-booked again as there was no-one to cut my hair. Absolute shambles ! The manager was rude , unapologetic and said if i wasnt happy with the service i should cancel , which i did ! using promotional sites like groupon is suppossed to drum up business ( i can see why they need to ) and help promote the salon . epic fail ginger , you are officially rubbish ! no stars if it was possible

Just got back from having a Groupon deal Brazilian Blow dry and cut with a creative director. Not the best experience I must say. The water to wash your hair is freezing one minute and boiling hot the next. My creative director  turned out to be someone who had only worked in the salon one month and is only half way through her training. She wasn't supervised thoughout the procedure and even clipped my hair up in a clip before I went under the dryer which you are not supposed to do when having a Brazilian blow dry as it will cause the hair to kink.  You can't see a thing in the mirror in front of you as the chairs are so low. Then came the cut! Terrible, its so crooked I cannot wait to get to a proper hairdresser tomorrow morning and get it straightened out. Its a complete mess. I have had 6 Brazilian Blow dries in the past and this is the worst experience so far - Never again!  I would say if you have bought the Groupon deal, try to get a refund or insist on someone qualified to cut your hair. BAD experience!

Long story short: I left this salon in tears. 

The end product was not what made me snap; the colour turned out fine and the cut is also fine.  The customer service and the experience was the worst I have ever had from a hair salon.

I had to wait 40 minutes before anybody even noticed I was sitting there with a robe on. No drink was offered and I had to ask for a magazine. Then I was told that was to be expected when you just walk-in, to which I replied, "But I had an appointment!" They couldn't answer that and babbled on about their boss causing problems. 

Colour was applied to my head before I had even seen and okayed the hue.  I only had a brief description of it by my stylist, who was not a very good English speaker.  

The shampoo and wash was awful.  I felt like a naughty kid getting mud scrubbed out of my scalp. 

I made it clear to my stylist I was growing my hair out and really just wanted to change the fringe, and off he went.  I said "OW" a lot when he yanked and ripped at my hair with the hairbrush and kept whacking my face with the hairdryer cord, but he didn't seem to care.  It seemed like he was in such a rush to just get me out of that seat.  Finally, he blowdried the fringe and said, "Done!"

I was a bit confused because the biggest change I wanted to make was to the fringe.  I asked, "Aren't you going to cut the fringe?"  He explained that in his opinion I needed a longer fringe.  That wasn't what I wanted but he argued with me until finally he agreed to trim it, though his attitude about it made me feel utterly humiliated.  I started to cry. 

It took another hairdresser coming over to try and calm the situation.  To her credit she took my side and was much more understanding. I had wanted someone to sit down with me and talk about my options and what would suit my face, but nobody seemed to give a shit.  Finally I got close to what I wanted in the first place, although my stylist continued to defend his point and make me feel self-conscious because I didn't agree with him. 

The only reason I've given this place one star is because they only charged me half price, as I left miserable and in tears.  

It was the most stressful and humiliating experience I have ever had in a hair salon, and I never cry in public.  I will go back there when hell freezes over.

After leaving my hair to grow for far too long, I felt it time to take a cut.  My first impressions of the place, was leaning towards trendy and good value for money. 

What I was left with was really poor customer service and a frustrating deficit of £50. I was told they would have stylist free in 15 minutes.  The receptionist then proceeded to write me down for 3.00pm (45 minutes later).  Luckily, my partner was with watch and challenged the disparity so I was able to be put in for the correct time.

The person washing my hair made it the most bizarre and stressful experience for me. Through a combination of cold water and dropping a bottle on my head, he confirmed my one star rating.  You're being paid to wash someone's hair for which you were probably trained for. 

The actual hairdresser was fine.  Certainly not worth the money however.

All in all-waste of money.

Never recommend this place to anyone!! I would rate it a zero star if I could! Rude staff and management/head office was even bad. I went in to the stratford branch with a friend for a consultation. I saw a girl named Aysha. Staff were all very welcoming to begin with took my jacket asked if I wanted a drink etc. I wanted a full head colour and had to have my hair bleached because my natrual hair colour is black and I wanted to go brown. Anyway on the day of my appointment I was very disappointed. Ayesha was seeing 2 other cilent at the same time while trying to do my hair, every 10 mins she left to see her other clients. Seemed very rushed of her feet. I chose a brown hair colour from the chart provided. And ended up with a bright red head. Was not happy at all. Sat in that horrible salon for 7 hours!!! Went home with red hair not only that had red all over my forehead which wouldn't even come off. I was given different stylist for everything to bleach my hair, colour my hair, wash my hair and dry my hair!!! I went back the next day to have the colour changed because it was not the colour i chose. Was then faced with a rude ignorant manager who said I will have to pay!! I was then told if i wanted to get my hair done here's the business card, come back when you have thought about it!!! Was also very rude to my friend telling her she cannot sit down because she is not getting no hair treatment! I asked for HR's number. The manager wrote down 0208 and told me I should find the number myself! I was told to go to the White city branch for a correction however they were just as bad. The stylist that was suppose to do my hair was late!! The manager was very rude telling me my hair was not bright red when clearly it was visable to her face!! She refused to do it for free even though it was their fault. I had to stand my ground and demand for a change of hair colour. And then she accepted to change it as a will of good gesture! They also try to send me out with semi wet hair in the end!! My hair is not in a good state. It's very dry and due to the bleaching my head has become very itchy. Ginger group can not face up to their mistakes. The staff there are all trianee's who don't have a clue what they are doing. Never have your hair done at this place. They seem all welcoming to begin with because they need the customers but they treat you like crap with no respect. Service was very poor from colouring, washing, and drying my hair. All in all stay away!!

This is the 3rd time I've gone here & the 3rd time they've charged me for a creative director cut when I only booked in with a senior stylist & over charge me. The hairdresser are no good, one "director" couldn't even tell if I had layers. They're always running so late & all round It's a terrible experience. Don't go here!

got a groupon for brazilian blow dry in ginger salon in westfield shepherds bush. It took the girl 1 hour to do my long hair and it lasted until the first wash. 75 quid down the drain. Thanks for your 'outstanding' service!good luck!

    Just wanted to add to this thread to warn others about another Groupon problem.
    Recently booked a brazillian blow dry with Ginger Group through Groupon. No mention of any limitations in terms of when appointments are available in the advert or on the voucher.
    Phoned up to get an appointment, was told there were plenty, only to have this withdrawn when I said I had a groupon voucher. Salon said had to book through online portal on voucher (this was not clear on the voucher; website provided as additional info but not clear until speaking to the salon what it was for).
    No online bookings available for over a month. Those available in over a month only at limited times, only on weekdays. Voucher only redeemable for a short time (over the month, but will they be able to fullfill all the purchases?)
    Have emailed Groupon for refund on basis that conditions were not stated. Awaiting refund.
    Please don’t fall for this “deal.”

Excellent,wonderful colour. I am delighted. `i arrived with my Groupon voucher and was give great treatment. I was told that they will being doing comparable offers to the Groupon ones, so I will keep in touch. clean stylish salon, with friendly staff. The cut is great, very contemporary. I look ten years younger!

Dreadful. I could have spent a 5th of the amount down a barber shop and got a better cut. The hairdresser chopped out any style I had in my hair – all the bits I asked him to keep got lopped off. My hair is uneven, straggly, utterly depressing. And I have to say they’re not the nicest bunch either. They messed up my appointment and had a go.

I am due to go to Westfield tomorrow for a correction from Ginger group in Watford, the service was so poor, untrained staff, right down from washing hair throught to cutting and colouring.

I have spoke with a manger called michael who has suggested i go along to Westfield for them to look at it, he also said they would still have to charge me for some hi-lights, even though it’s thir mistake,
My hair is orange instead of blonde with alwful blonde hi-lights, I think I may just stick with the awful hair… has anyone been to the Covent Garden one?

As many unfortunate people probably do, I stopped in here on a whim while I was in Westfields, as I needed my fringe cut before going on holiday. How I wish I had taken 2 minutes to look up some reviews before going in! The woman who cut my hair was so blatantly disinterested, she could barely even be bothered to speak to me and almost didn’t even ask how I wanted my hair cut. She gave my fringe one long horizontal snip and asked if it was short enough. As it was still covering my eyes I asked for it a little shorter and she gave one long snip across again. I had specifically asked that it NOT be a blunt cut across the front but what I ended up with was like a bowl cut for an 8 year old boy. I could see that things were only going even more downhill so I just got up and paid and left before it got worse. I’m so angry at even having paid 5 pounds for such a horrible cut. I look like an idiot and every time I look in the mirror I get angry. I’ve tried to fix it myself at home but I’ll just have to wait for it to grow out again. Clearly this woman should never have been allowed to wield scissors near any person, ever.
