One of the best places to dine with a big group. great food, plenty of space, attentive but relaxed service.

very sad to see how they have gone downhill to REALLY REALLY BAD. I have been in EDinburgh since 1990 and followed them from Drummond St ….......where they were excellent. Now very poor, expensive and they no longer do a Madras curry. NO STARS but system insists on one

I have only just visited this place despite it being open for a while now and thought it was fantastic. ON a Wednesday night the place was full and it must hold over 200 people. Great food, good service, byob - highly recommend and will be back!

I've only been here once, but I had an absolutely fantastic evening. The food is terrific, the restaurant is stunning and the service is seemingly with a smile!

Many years ago the building used to be an indoor market with a great interior - when I heard it was to be turned into a restaurant I had fears that the building's character would be destroyed. Thankfully, my fears weren't realised and I can safely say I have never had a curry in such opulent surroundings.

As you first enter the main restaurant, you are greeted by a gigantic staircase which leads up to a mezzanine floor - both levels are for dining but the bottom floor seems a bit more classy. A huge chandelier also dangles between the floor and sets the tone for a sophisticated night of dining.

The food is very reasonably priced and is top notch - I had the lamb tikka masala and it was cooked to perfection. The fact that it is BYOB is a plus too because alcohol can really make a meal very expensive. Here you are free to bring your open tipples at no extra charge.

I'm giving it 4 stars as I have only been once and it needs to stand up to repeat visits. However, the signs are very good!

The nicest Indian in Edinburgh. The food is gorgeous and you can bring your own wine without having to pay for corkage. The price is reasonable and the i found the staff very friendly. Would reccomend this place to anyone!!

This is my favourite place ever to eat! You can take your own wine and there is no corkage charge! This is a good point but more importantly the food is to die for. Poppadoms and dips are standard when you sit down. I enjoy the Biryani as they bring the best ever Riata with it! The food is expertly cooked, the sauces are rich and of a great quality. The various starters and deserts are great aswell especially the lemon sorbet! The staff are all very helpful and service is quick and it is very cheap for the standard of food and for the fact that it is in the city centre. Everyone must visit here, it is amazing!

I had a very disappointing experience in this restaurant recently. Showing up with 6 people we were told that we could have a table but only for an hour as it was booked after that. We were in a hurry anyway... it was perfect.

However, it took at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive and the head waiter (the owner?) took a hissy fit at us for taking longer than we promised (5 minutes past the hour we were given).

I quote the head waiter saying "If you don't want to come back, then don't come back". I don't believe I will, which is a shame as the food really is quite good.

I first came accross this restaurant with some friends. On Victoria Street, I had no idea what was through those doors - a grand palace of culinary genius! We had a table upstairs right next to where they cook the food. We dropped off some wine earlier in the day, and when we arrived it was brought to our table chilled to perfection. I can highly recommend the king prawns - delicious!

"The best Indian I have had outside India!" This family run restaurant has been going for over 50 years and serve delicious food, which is cooked behind big glass windows so everyone can see what's going on. My friend had to have the tandoori after seeing it being prepared! The family is Muslim so they do not serve any alcohol but delicious smoothies and fruit juices. They are, however, happy for you to bring your own alcohol, do not charge corkage and even provides ice buckets to keep the beers cold.
