A really trendy pub with good food downstairs. At the weekends you can see some top DJ’s which is surprising as it is basically just the upstairs of a pub. Not to different from a very large living room with a pair of decks in the corner. This perhaps makes it even greater. Check out the chalk board to see who is playing next time you pass through Essex Road. Lovely crowd usually, certainly worth a go if you’re up for a fun night out.

The Queens Head is one of those pubs that can be a hit or a miss. When it's too packed the atmosphere becomes quite 'larry' so not recommended for a quiet drink, however, when you're down for a good time the upstairs room and bar has great Dj's and live music especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Popular with local residents and trendy media types or estate agents.
Recommended if you're around the Angel / Islington area.

This place gets really busy as its one of the best places to go out in Islington. Traditional pub style with good DJ's upstairs. Does get really packed (and hot) but it's good fun and generally a really nice crowd.

A trendy music pub with a young crowd set over two floors. Often there are DJ's and live music upstairs but some nights it is a great place for a quiet sit down. The pub can get overcrowded on weekends and the queue can be long and there is a small fee on the door.
They do some food but it is best on the weekend with Saturday brunch and Sunday Lunch. The decor is traditional old pub with mix match furniture, fireplace and wood panels. The toilets are really cool.
There is seating both at the front on Essex road and at the back in their beer garden.
