If you can get a table outside it’s a great place to eat and people-watch. Food is good and often has dishes you’ll not have considered (e.g. gull’s eggs) but they do tend to over-salt food.

A good restaurant, but not worth the cost unless you just like the feel of living large.
It’s only a few years old, so is very clean, very modern. Caters to large groups with lots of big tables in a single big room. Looks out onto the renovated Paternoster Square, adjacent to St Paul’s Cathedral. It all makes for a fancy, busy, high-profile location.
The menu has, as the other review says, lots of meat. If you want game, lamb hotpots, Cornish bass, rosemary roast potatoes, parsnip soup, cabbage & apple salad…well, you get the idea: big, warming, roasted country foods. It might be the kind of place to take your dad on his birthday (just don’t let him see the bill).
They have a separate Sunday roast menu that changes seasonally (see the web page) which I think gets a little closer to value for money: from £16 for two courses, or from £20 for three, and there’s a lot of choice. Still not cheap as chips, but the quality and choice is top-notch (for carnivores).
