I like the Kro chain a lot, drinks might be a little more than elsewhere but the food and service are great. The menu’s safe but tasty.

Beer is overpriced, food is reasonable (but nothing special), but KRO2 is a good place to relax and chill out if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of many of the bars down the road. It also has a large beer garden which proves popular on those rare warm days.

Worth going to for a quick pint or two but not to spend the night….

UPDATE: Really starting to go off this place - it’s the bar of choice at work for birthdays and leaving do’s, but the food is so inconsistent, the drinks are still overpriced, and the service so mediocre (got charged a 10% “service charge” last time which wasn’t deserved), that I’m taking a star off its rating, you’re better off going elsewhere…

I gotta admit, my first impressions of kro2 were not the best, however having gone a couple of times for a coffee early evening I found the bar staff to be so friendly- eager to help me find a good deal on the menu, and Emma the blonde Welsh barmaid was a star… the wedges she recommended were hand made and well cooked with an excellent spicy dip. The coffee and cake offer is a good one and you don’t have to spend a lot to enjoy yourself there…
The venue itself is pleasant on the eye and there is a good selection of beers and drinks if you fancy something a little bit stronger… will definitely go again soon…

Nice on a warm early evening to gather under a heater lamp and have a few drinks but that really is about it’s biggest draw. Situated well between MMU, across from Oxford Rd station and next to the BBC. Can be expensive and the food isn’t that great. Rather bland and nothing special.

Located on oxford road next to the main universities of manchester. They offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Usually very busy during the lunch hours and after work hours as the working class people frequent the place to relax after the stresses of work. Their prices are relatively cheap. However they tend to close quite early. It's the kind of place you have a drink before you head out to another nightclub. It's the kind of place where you will have a drink with a date as its a very condusive atmosphere.

Kro 2 is one of a number of the Kro chain bars which are situated across Manchester.

Despite this trendy bar being in the heart of student-ville, Kro 2 is also popular among young professionals and and is based in what looks like a massive glass shoe-box! However, it's the outside which I think is best.

On a lazy Summer evening, this Kro is one of the most fun places to be in Manchester. Right beside this glass box is a heated outdoor area that stays buzzing until the early hours and is unlike anything else in the city.

I've lost many an hour sitting reading, chatting to friends and supping a budvar on those outdoor benches.

As it is situated by the BBC on Oxford Road, it's also not unusual to see some minor celebrities hanging around but don't let that deter you!

Finally, Kro has a fantastic array of drinks, reasonably priced tasty food and the bar staff are friendly and not "too cool for school"!

Kro 2 is based on Oxford road, a very busy hotspot on a night out in Manchester. I have been here a few times and really enjoyed myself. Due to its location it is predominantly popular with students as it is based with a shot distance of the university accommodation. If you are still not sure where it is this about the BBC studios as it is just next door. The bar itself is very trendy and definitely appeals to younger people as apposed to older people. The offer a vide variety of beer from all over the work and they quite often and several promotions on which make it easier to enjoy a night out. It can be a bit costly for some of the drinks and the food, I tend to stick with the bottled beer offers. I have stopped off for lunch on a couple of times a Kro 2 and if your in the area I would recommend the cheese nachos they are amazing. The staff are all very polite and you are always quick to be served even when it is really busy. Being a smoker I love the fact that Kro 2 has an outdoor heated area, this is going to be popular in the winter. Because I like local I quite often start out here for a few drinks and work my way up Oxford road and then to the Northern quarter.

Kro 2 is a large, glass fronted bar on Oxford Road, with an extenxive, heated outdoor area.
It's a fairly mellow place- more suitable for a quiet drink than a big night out- with a large selection of beers and lagers.
It's also right next door to the BBC, so you occasionally see a few minor celebrities drinking in there.

Kro2 is run, unsurprisingly by the Krobar people. The beer and food are just as good (and expensive), but the location isn't quite as cool. Next to the BBC and across the road from Man Met Uni.

It's placement on the google map isn't correct btw. It's on the other side of the road for one! It's around that area though.

i lived in Kro while at Uni- the coffe's are great and cheap and if you get a jumbo coffee you get a free pastry - the food is cheap as it's opposite the uni- but it is hearty food and portions are big. there are other Kro bars scattered around Manchester-one further down oxford road and one in piccadilly. they also do outside catering.

This is a great bar with a great atmosphere.
It attracts alot of students and remains a nice friendly place to go. Great to hit before a club
