The best Dance studios to go for classes and definitely the best place to teach too. I teach Latin jAzz there on Fridays and I just love the people. You would think, just because it is a world famouse dance studio and you see celebrities taking classes, rehearsing, auditions taking place for TV, West End shows- you would be surrounded by big egoes!!! That is absolutely not the case! People are amazing, they have such lovely team working there and you feel like at home as soon as you walk in!
No wonder why Pineapple is the best place to be!

I discovered this out-of-the-way shop when I took up dance classes at Pineapple. Their store stocks fantastically stylish and comfortable activewear – mostly aimed at those who want to look kinda cool at the same time though. I bought a tshirt in there that I’m now in love with, and my friend bought a hoodie she wears constantly. The prices are surprisingly reasonable too. Definitely worth a look… although try and take some dance classes too, it’s amazing how much fun you’ll have! They have everything from hip-hop funk, to burlesque, to tap!! You can go for a one-off class and see if you like it. There are people at all levels, so don’t be shy!

I don’t know how this idea came into my head but once it did it took root immediately: I want to be a breakdancer! So last week, as soon as classes started again for the new year, I showed up at Pineapple Dance Studios. I was ten minutes early but as I stepped into the assigned room there were already a handful of people there, all breakdancing away and doing the wildest of moves, spinning on their head and what not. I was feeling somewhat intimidated to say the least, but I also thought to myself, wow, I want to be one of those people!
Three classes later, aside from being in a lot of pain and almost unable to walk, I am as enthusiastic as ever and full of praise both for Pineapple Dance Studios and the Foundations Cru who run the classes. Breakdancing is so much fun you wouldn’t believe it! And it’ll make you incredibly fit, with abs and arm muscles to die for. It’s difficult and challenging and the teachers push you really hard, but that means that if you’re really dedicated you can learn a lot in a short space of time.
Another great thing about these classes is that really experienced breakdancers show up too to practise, so you get to see a lot of excellent breaking.
Breakdancing=AWESOME. Fact.

The world famous Pineapple dance studio, situated right by Covent Garden, is a brilliant place for anyone who fancies themselves to be a bit of a mover. Fortunately, the vast range of classes mean that even those with two left feet should be able to find a class, whether it’s a funky street jazz class or more traditional but no less demanding ballroom class.
Pricewise, for those living in London it’s worth investing in membership, with discounts for Equity members, though it’s possible to get a day pass if you just happen to passing through. Please note, though, that that only covers entrance and you will have to pay the instructor of your class in addition with most classes priced around £5/6 depending on duration and level. Though there is a café it’s recommended to take water and a towel as you will work up a sweat. There are shower facilities, though the changing rooms are quite bad, to be honest, but they do the job and it’s certainly better than travelling home all red-faced and sweaty.

It certainly does live up to its reputation. Every class is taught by a vibrant, talented teacher with amazing choreography and music. Quite addictive, once you do one class you’ll be on your way to trying salsa, street dance, jazz, hip hop maybe even belly dancing. It really is the fun way to get good exercise.

Pineapple studios has to be the most heard of dance studios in London and rightly so, it has hundreds of classes all day everyday with levels to suit everyone.
Classes are varied and you can train in practically every dance/dance fusion class possible!!
Entry for a day membership is 4 pounds which gives you access all day and then class fees are around 5 pounds! You can do as many as you have the energy for!

Pineapple studios is the big daddy of London dancing. It is internationally renowned, and has the teaching talent (and students) to prove it. Dancers - professional and amateur alike - from all over the world flock here at all times of the year to experience the creme de la creme of what London has to offer, and to gain some new moves, ideas and passion.
It is unmissable with it’s pink neon “Pineapple” sign, although if you do miss that there is always the Pineapple dance store next door or the throng of those dressed funkier than your average Londoner heading to the studios for a work out.
Numerous auditions take place here every week and sometimes you can see lines winding around the block of hopeful dancers waiting for their turn to shine.
The studios are nice and big although they consistantly fill to capacity. There are 4 floors of studios and a wide variety of classes on offer to suit anyone’s needs. Don’t forget to check out the notice board for up coming auditions!
