Its a beautiful building with an impressive open dining area, the space is great for people watching and trust me there are plently of wanabee wags and footballers giving it large. The food and service is always professionally done but you definetly pay for it.

Definetly keep this place in mind if you are out to impress on a date!

Had been wanting to come here for years, literally after always hearing good reviews from friends and is so often the case, it didn’t live up to it’s hyped reputation. Fell flat almost immediately. Food was not cooked as requested, service was awful, we felt rushed and drinks order was messed up twice.
Will give it a second chance at som point but in no hurry.

The best steak in Manchester, and the only Gaucho Grill outside London. The menu is the same as other Gaucho’s so if you’ve done one before you know what to expect. The service is good and the staff are well trained.

The main room is large and the decor is modern with lots of cow-hide on show - but then if you were a Vegetarian I suspect you’d be avoiding this place.

Starters include Empanadas (savoury pastries), prawns, fish and Argentinian-style sausages.

On the mains the favourite has to be the steaks, but they also do burgers, chicken and fish. The dearest single steak on the menu is a 400g Fillet at over £25, but if you are hungry “larger weights are available on request” :-)

The wine list is extensive with wines from under £20 to close to £200 a bottle.

Expect to have a great meal, but spend a lot of money.

Situated just off deansgate on a side road of kendals is an argentinian steak restuarant. The interior is about as stylish as it gets. The seats are covered in real cowhide.

There's a concave grill derived from the original argentinian cowboy(gauncho)tradition of cooking fresh meat over charcoal grills. You can rest assured that you date will be impressed. Another strong poing is the live music. There's an argentinian band that plays making the atmosphere more romantic. If you're trying to make an impression on the first date, this is probably one of the places to go. Highly recommended.

Recently voted Best Manchester Restaurant in the Manchester Food & Drink Awards, this classy restaurant never disappoints. Located in a converted church hall round the side of Kendals ( near Parsonage Gardens), the spectacular interior is a real surprise the first time you visit.
The staff are extremely well-trained, and will give you an informative rundown on the different steaks available. Ah...the steak. This is what people come here for, of course, and it is worth it - the Argentinian melt-in-your-mouth fillet is hard to beat. However the other dishes on the menu don't let the side down - the ceviches are an ideal light starter before your steak, and there is a good variety on the extensive menu. Add to this the two long wine menus (one for rare or vintage wines) and you have a near-perfect restaurant. It may be part of a chain (the rest are in London) but The Gaucho Grill in Manchester manages to feel like a one-off gem.

If you're a big fan of steaks and latin American cuisine then this is definitely a place you need to visit. It is currently the only Gaucho outside of London. The restaurant itself has two very large mezzanine areas and both complete with cow-hide covered seats at each table. The kitchen runs the full length of the restaurant which is open so you can nott only pick which steak you want and how it is cooked but also see it being cooked in front of you. Although the restaurant classes itself highly on it's Argentinian steaks which is served with either chips or baked potato, along with your choice of sauce it does also have a quality vegetarian option. The wine list has an enviable choice, not surprisingly a number of classic argentinian varieties that will not cause a big dent to the bank balance. There are also several fine and rare brands, for those who want to push the boat out. The restaurant comes into it's own on a Saturday night with a resident DJ playing.

Child friendly and also wheel-chair friendly, and for those on a business lunch or meeting wi-fi connectivity.

If you love steak you'll love The Gaucho Grill. A variety of steaks all available in 3 sizes. I opted for the medium fillet, while my boyfriend went for the large sirloin.

Now my only complaint is that they brought a medium sirloin and a large fillet! tut tut tut - but we both ate our respective sizes and where both undeniably satisfied and unbelievably full!

Not cheap but worth it for a special night out. The decor is all cow skin and leather, very tastefully done. Very atmospheric, the lighting so low we could hardly read the menu! But I'd rather that than too bright.

Also do try the cucumber mojito - was really good, refreshing without being bitter.

Best steak place around.
Argentinian beef is the best in the world.
Great choice of sauces and eductcated bar staff can make superb cocktails.
Not much for vegitarians

This argentinan restaurant offers fantasic steaks, cooked to perfection. The waiter staff will bring you a selction of cuts to your table so you can choose you own steak.

The top steak is priced approx £20

The atmosphere is romantic with low lighting and the seating area is spacious which makes your table private ideal for a romantic meal.

The food is quite expensive but for a special occassion is worth every penny!
