It is far smaller than a few years ago, but has very good events. Student nite is on once a week and a lot of fun, girls and cheap drinks…
I leave the rest to your imagination

Sometimes this place is great fun. Other times it’s a nasty horrid meat market. That’s a pretty extreme way of looking at things but trust me, if you get the time right when you come here it can make all the difference.
The bar is in an area which is renowned for its tacky bars (Los Locos, Navaja Joes, Roadhouse - do you need more proof?) but it errs just on the right side of the fence with a great cocktail menu. They do something with passion fruit in which is fab and got me trolllied very quickly. It’s a strange place. The metal patio furniture annoys me. It just adds to the tackiness. It’s also dark in here and as it’s downstairs, you’ll have no idea how late its getting. Not good on a school night.
Their happy hour is fab. It seems to last all day. But the only good time to come here is early evening. Any day of the week, but still early evening. Make the most of the happy hour and then scarper. If you don’t (and I didn’t last time as we sneakily bought a pitcher of cocktail right at the end of happy hour!) you’ll see it transform before your eyes.
We got kicked out of the ‘VIP area’ (a bit of rope cutting off two tables) and people shouted at us. Drinks were being thrown. The very nasty looking hooker was an amusing touch. I’ve never seen such a blatant attempt of someone picking up trade. The men in dresses were actually fun and I tought them how to walk in heels.
All of this happened in the space of ten minutes after happy hour finished. Our late friends got there five minutes after 9 and had to pay to get in - only a fiver though I think. But after helping us (quickly) polish off our dirnks, they were more than happy to scarper five minutes later.
We’ll make sure we time it right and avoid the hooker next time. Which is a pretty good rule for most bars.

After visiting the club on a Friday night with 4 friends (and paying a 12 pound cover), I thought it was nice, but not much more. The ambiance is pretty well established with a great color scheme and nice touches like a chandelier and comfy couches, however, the whole design of the place just doesn’t lend itself to a fun night out. The bar staff is nice, as is the security, however, the 2 bars are located in such a way that the que ranges from annoying to insufferable.
After finding some couches and alternating between hanging out and dancing, I had an averagely good time at the Gardening club, but honestly not much more. Its pros are its late hours, nice staff and decent environment. Its cons are a slightly higher than average cover, non-intuitive bar design and intangibles that other places in Covent just seem to execute slightly better.
I would recommend the place to others, but only after considering all the options in the area first.

A great red and black, lustful setting makes this place a good night out. If you have just eaten in the rock garden restaurant make sure before you leave to ask the waitress for any deals on getting into the club. The staff here are much friendlier then other london clubs (that includes the doormen). The price to get in and also the drinks prices are fairly reasonable.
There are plenty of tables and chairs to accomodate you, and the space to dance is adequate. There is a V.I.P area which i have not been in (que the violins) but from what i have seen it looks pleasent with nice comfy sofa’s.
This club is not as exclusive as your funky Buddha’s and club24’s but is somewhere in the middle - which is nice. Be sure to don your glad rags!
