Looking like a scene from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the bar of the Underbelly Caves is an enchanting experience of everything that murky lighting and cobwebs can offer. I do not mean to sound derogatory; in fact this is one if the coolest most interesting bars I know of, anywhere. Gone from this realm is the blasting music of the modern world. Remaining is, well, lots of dust and cobwebs, though everything that needs to be clean is quite up to standards and the chunky coffee tables and chairs are much more to be desired than anything Ikea could offer. (Saying that, I hope they aren’t part of an Ikea ‘rustic pirate’ range, that would be the most disappointing news in the world).
Candles flicker from the walls and by the creaking, winding stairs lurks the oldest, boniest drinker in the city.
