I went on Saturday and was really impressed with just what a great night it was. The staff were friendly and helpful, the drinks were reasonable, and the place was buzzing. I’m not an expert on comedy by any means, but all three comics were of a great calibre and had the entire audience in stitches. Afterwards there was an added bonus of free-entry to a nightclub round the corner. When I came I was just on a date but I’m going to go back with a group of friends as I now have a membership card which gets me a discount.

Had a fantastic night! Andy Parsons was brilliant and made the evening. My boyfriend is a big fan of Andy (he’s the bald one from Mock The Week :-) so I surprised him for his birthday, he was well happy. The club was packed and had a great vibe, there were at least two bars and a DJ playing really cool jazzy/swing house music which I hadn’t heard before, we loved it. It was great value for money, we even got a discount off our dinner first The only complaint I had was I was slightly disappointed at the house red wine I was served but the bartender changed it immediately. Overall we loved this night, we are going back for my birthday!

I am normally not a person who cares about writing reviews. However feel that I have a responsibility to share my experience.
We went to the club on a Saturday night. The comedians were not that great but still ok. When we arrived there was loud music, the person showing us to our seat was not even able to hear us or we her. Then we had our first break and the music started again, really loud you could feel it resonate in your chest. We got a drink and thought it would go down. Then at the second break we couldn’t take it anymore it was so loud that we worried about the lasting effect on our ears and walked out.
Outside we asked the security guard to speak to the manager, the guard was very helpful and called the manager. However the manager wasn’t very helpful at all and refused to give us the money back , although we explained that it wasn’t anything to do with the show but the actually high level of music.
I was so disappointed. The thing is that the loud music is so unnecessary, if we wanted to go to listen to loud music we would have gone to a dance club or a concert. We wanted to have a nice evening with a laugh.
yes it says entry to a night club, but that is next door, so no point to spoil the show with such loud music in between!
I feel sorry for the people working there because they are in danger of damaging their hearing, once is gone you cant get it back.
such a pity I wonder why they do that , if the show is good you dont need to have such loud music what are they thinking?

Just had a very enjoyable Staurday night at the Covent Garden Comedy Club on the Embankment.
When we arrived (all 4 of us), we were a little shocked to find a stage that was about 2m long by about 1m wide with about 25 chairs placed around it. I guess you could say that the venue is particularly "cosy". The room itself was not particularly small, but the setup ensured that the Comedian was almost on top of his/her audience. The other comedians waited in the darkness behind the audience and waited for their cue to come on stage.
We had an excellent compare and seven comedians (one of which was an alternative comedian, which unfortunately for him meant that his act was alternative to being funny!! - in my honest opinion anyway). However the other 6 acts were brilliant. The evening started with the compare warming up the audience (all 20 of us!) before bring on the first of four acts, followed by a short 20 min interval before bringing on 3 more acts.
The fun began at 8:30 pm and went on until 11pm which is great value for £10 (even better value for us as we had free tickets!). There is a bar conveniently situated in the same room, so no queuing at the main pub bar, although it was a trek to the loos (not that you want to be getting up to the loos in the middle of a comedians act anyway!).
I think it is a real shame that more people don't seem to know about this place as they have regular comedy nights here (details can be found on the following website http://www.comedypoint.co.uk/index.htm). Its a shame some of the previous reviewers had a bad experience here because we had a thoroughly enjoyable one, (with very tickled pink ribs to prove it), and will definately be going back there.
Once you have finished in the comedy club, its a quick walk down the corridor into the Walkabout bar for a continuation of an enjoyable evening.

we went to this comedy club with the idea to take a group up but was suprised how scruffy the whole set up was but that wasn,t the worst, I am a very broad minded person but the 'comedy ' was spoilt by complete crudity and way below the belt banter, it completley sploit the occasional really funny tale, there were no jokes only pornagraphic tales and quips. The audience was full of nervous laughter and uncomfortable sounds. We were very disappointed as it could have been really funny if all the acts had left out the extreme filth. the best act was the compere, john mann, we will not be bringing our group as i'm sure some of them would be leaving shell shocked, you don't need to be so explicit to be funny!!!!

I went to 'Covent Garden Comedy Club' on Friday 25th June 2010. It was the first time I have ever been to a comedy club; I took my wife, 18 year old son and his girlfriend. I was not sure how the evening would go but I have to say from the moment I picked the tickets up at the box office to walking out of the club at 10 thirty the whole night was a blast ! The club is small and intimate I would guess that around 100 people was at the show and everyone would of had a great view we sat in the 2nd to last row but I kid you not this was a great seat. The atmosphere was just brilliant, really friendly and great music in between the acts. The prices at the bar I thought were very reasonable (for London) but let’s get one thing right the whole night was made by the fantastic talent that we saw on the night. I have to say I don’t recall any of them being on the TV (I might be wrong though). I have never laughed so much in my life they were all BRILLIANT great compare and fantastic acts. I would happily recommend this venue to anyone great entertainment and great value for money! one word of caution don’t turn up in a suit and tie as you will get the micky taken out of you all be it done in a nice way : - )
So to finish off great night, nice people, great value for money, good price on drinks and very very talented acts so go and see it now!

We had a great night out there, it seemed like the most worthwhile tenner I have ever spent in my London life. It is located on Villier Street, Charing Cross which is quite handy to grab a bite before the show - actually the comedy club occupies part of Heaven before its actual business hours (Heaven-one of the most famous gay bar in town - you must know it!).
The drink is in reasonable price, well, lets not expect a decent alcoholic selection as it’s not quite the primary object of being there.
I quite like the atmosphere that it’s not too packed, it’s just about the right number of audiences being let into the venue. There are 2 types of tickets - standing and seat. Standing is of course cheaper if you don’t mind being on your feet for the whole period, the good thing is you can sneak to the loo easily. Seat is slightly more expensive which I didn’t regret paying for that, the bad thing is it will take a while to crouch passing through people during the show to get to the end of the seating row when in need of the loo.
P.S. - I don’t recommend you girls rushing to the loo at the end of the show because they will close the main ladies’ loo at some point and usher you to share a much smaller one which is quite a nightmare in a very long narrow queue.

Me and my best pal had the best night here. Much better than other clubs I have been too. Fab service at the bar and got excellent seats. Brill atmosphere and great value for money. Would come here again for sure. The club after with the free entry was fantastic playing R&B and some cool tunes. We had the best time… (we are 34 going on 25)lol x

I really enjoyed my night out here. There were four of us, ranging from 20 years old to forty-plus, and we all had sore faces from extreme laughing by the end of the night.
I didn’t find the venue as claustrophobic as suggested elsewhere on this site, but there are certainly no frills. It’s located under railway arches and chairs are lined up around a very small, low stage. You’re not going anywhere once the acts start, but two bars mean you can stock up on reasonably priced (if a little limited) drinks.
There was a really good atmosphere and all three acts plus the compare were hilarious. Very high quality. I booked online well in advance and found myself on the front row, middle - any closer and I would have been one of the acts (actually, if you sit there you will be involved in the comedy anyway).
I didn’t visit the nightclub that offers free admission if you’ve been in here first.
Highly recommended, but don’t expect leather Chesterfields and waitress service.

Although it is called Covent Garden comedy club it is actually at Charing Cross / embankment. Many of the comedians who play here are also on at the Comedy Store, which means you get the same style of high calibre comedy. 2 bars means you can get served quickly in the interval, and there is an interval between every act, with usually 3 acts in a night. I had a great time at this club as the comedy was top notch, but the downside is they don't arf pack you in. Squeezed into you school chair style seat you barely have room to move (and I'm only 5 foot and petite!). If you can get into the spirit of things, and a knee in your back for half the night doesn't phase you, then this place is worth the visit for the top comedians at a great price, which also includes entry to a nightclub (not a great one) a short walk away from the venue after the gig.
