This is a great find the fish is so fresh and great value for money. just what you need for cockle warming fish pie mmm!
Plain and simple Eddies is ridiculously good. As someone who has run restaurant chains across the UK I can say without doubt, it is one of the best in the world, right up there with any of the La Bouqeria stalls in Barcelona for example.
The squid, crab and salmon I bought there on Saturday were frankly – ludicrously brilliant. The squid perhaps 50% more expensive than elsewhere but 100%+ better, just unbelievably fresh!!!!
They’re also extremely friendly and helpful every time.

Really lovely fishmongers with an absolutely superb selection of fish. Best time of the week to go is easily Saturday morning where they have a really huge selection of fish and Ping (Eddie’s wife) prepares tubs of sushi which are really superb (better than any restaurant sushi I’ve had in Edinburgh at least).
Our favourite thing about Eddie’s though is their friendliness. Eddie and his staff always remember faces and when they see us they always say “hello chef” to my wife and they then have a long chat in Chinese.
Really great place, it’s no wonder they supply some of the top (and the most famous) restaurants in Edinburgh. Thoroughly recommended.

I haven’t been in Edinburgh long, but this is the best fishmonger I’ve seen, and I’ve definitely been looking.
Scallops, razor clams, crabs, john dory, squid, mackerel, lobster, king prawn, to name a few things there today. I will absolutely be going back… regularly.

Just the fishmonger I've been looking for! Huge selection and every bit of it looked fresh. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I know we'll be going back.

You wont be disappointed! When places are hyped they're often disappointing but not Eddie's. The fish is excellent and the staff are incredibly helpful. The tank of lobster also looks really enticing!

Eddie's is renowned as the best fishmongers, and rightfully so. The fish is always about as fresh as you can get it in a city without personally getting it straight from the boat it was caught on.
Eddie's is always busy, and also supplies quite a lot of local restaurants with their fish. These guys are doing really well, and it's well deserved.

Best fishmongers in the city (well I think so anyway). Everything is so fresh you couldn’t ask for more, so damn popular that getting there earlier rather than later is essential.
A couple of years ago me and some mates were having a barbecue to see a friend off to the States. I bet my flatmate he couldn’t find kangaroo to have on the barbecue, he bet me I couldn’t get shark. I turned up on the morning before the barbecue, took two steps in the door only to step over a whole 7ft shark! Coincidence of course but it would only happen at Eddie’s; came back 2 hours later for my order of 8 shark steaks and they were unbelievable. Nice one Eddie.

Eddies is a well known fish shop in Marchmont and stocks a wide range of fish and shellfish. Staff are very helpful and the fish always tastes great and is really fresh. They also supply the nearby restaurant Sweet Melindas which specialises in fish dishes. The shop is always very popular and at Christmas time the queues can be out the door. Its a great place to go if you do like seafood.

Eddies fish market is easily found just off the Meadows in the array of Marchmont shops. It is an excellent fish shop. In the corner of the shop there’s a tank full of lobsters that fascinates my kids, and every now and then when you walk in you’ll see a dead shark awaiting dissection! The selection is unsurpassed in Edinburgh. We have been regulars at Eddies since we moved into the area, they are a great source for sushi grade tuna, bass and salmon. On our poorer days Eddies also do a tasty cheap fishcake. Best of all, the staff at Eddies are so friendly, they’ll remember you face, and they’ve endeared themselves to my kids by handing out little packets of haribo sweeties on our visits!

The best fishmonger in town! They have every kind of fish you could want, all incredibly fresh. They even have a tank full of live lobsters, although I'll admit I'm rather more keen on keeping them as pets than eating them. The staff are so helpful, helping you to decide how much of something you need and giving recipe advice. Brilliant!
