It is an awful place with total rip off. Receptionists are horrible with an attitude. They are paid to make you small. Car park is a night mare.
I would not recommend at all

Beautiful gardens full of various plants and very well landscaped.

Some areas did seem to need a bit more care.

Little cute cat that belongs to the gardens seemed a bit poorly. Sweet touch though.

A fabulous day out to rejuvinate after a busy week in the city. Lovely gardens and plants but you don’t have to travel miles and miles to enjoy it! Would definately recommend a visit and would definately take my camera next time!

it houses a galery that has different exhibitons in it. i went when a textile one was on and it was well worth a look. we went as 2 adults and it cost us £15.00 and we stayed 3 hours but could of stayed longer if wether was warmer. will revisit in summer. it houses lots of different glass houses the medditereanen and subtropical were the best.

This is a lovely place to visit, the Botanical Gardens. There is a large variety of both plants and animals. The gardens are absolutely amazing with all the beautiful flowers and vibrant colours. Good on all types of days but especially in the sunny months.
You are able to book for special occasions such as weddings and it provides the perfect scenery and atmosphere for both the day and the photos.

This is a great day out for all ages. There is so much to see, so take your camera! There are sometimes school trips for art students here because it is so beautiful. You can hire out the rooms of an evening for a ball or other functions. The staff are very friendly and the price is quite reasonable. The gardens are gorgeous and perfect for romantic walks.

I’m always quite fascinated when I vist the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham. I think the whole place is very tasteful - so it’s easy to see why people choose it as a wedding venue.

I’ve been here as a visitor and have also attended a dinner here a couple of years ago, which was lovely. The staff who work here made the event perfect, and we were welcome to wonder fully around the gardens 'out of hours’ which was a fabulous experience.

The Botanical Gardens are about 10 minutes out of Birmingham city centre on a major bus route. There is also a decent sized car park.

I’ve never experienced the place to be too busy which is great, or too expensive which is even better!

I’d recommend visiting here as something relaxing to do in the city.

I have a membership here. Its about £6 for a day visit so you want to make the most of it, but with an annual pass you can just pop in for a walk now and then. You can take a picinic and in summer there is live music on Sundays. They have loads of events there, craft fairs, teddy bears picnic etc. They hold events like weddings, balls etc. The food is good at the events but there tea room is absolute rubbish so take a picinic. The shop is ok and plants are godo value. They regularly have art exhibitions inside and out. They have courses in daytime and evenings, and on off workshop days in arts/craft and gardening usually. They have indoor greenhouse areas. Theyhave parrots and other birds. The kids play park is really good for babies upto 15yrs. You can watch the tennis at the Edgbaston lawn tennis and archery club from their too. There a new garden area with all interactive things for adults and kids too. I really like it, although when I have been to other botanical gardens (bicton for example) it doesnt look so good, but its a nice haven.

The Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit if you have a few hours to spare on an afternoon or maybe more! It has a host of unusual plants within the glasshouses and even more gardens to walk around in the surrounding area. They do weddings receptions and parties there if you wanted to do something a bit different.

I go there fairly often myself to put my photography skills to the test.

When living in halls of residence at university, i used to be able to see the botanical gardens from my window, granted it was a distant view but a view nonetheless!
That sparked off by curiosity to go and see what the gardens were, and i have never regretted it.
It is perfect to go and revise, or have a picnic after looking round all the plants.
the greatest part of the experience are the open air plays and concerts.

Botanical Gardens is a great place for families in Birmingham. We have membership now because it is great to just pop in for an hour or so whether the weather is good and now that my eldest has started school I imagine it will become a life saver in the summer holidays. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and the sense of space for the kids to just run around, roll down the hill etc is fantastic. The kids area is good although the disappearance of the very high slide is a bit of disappointment for kids over 4 (although for younger kids I always felt nervous of it, perhaps why it disappeared?). The childrens discovery garden is very sweet as well. The only down side is the queues in the cafe and the menu, which I think could be more interesting than it is. However, they are so happy for people to bring picnics that it doesn’t bother me too much. I don’t think a picnic at Botanical Gardens on a summer’s day can be beaten!

Entry is fairly cheap and concessions are available. Great for a relaxing day out. There are some beautiful exotic flowers to be seen. For the kids (and big kids) there is a playground with swings, slides etc. A nice place to have a picnic as the food can be slightly expensive. You can get buses from the city centre to the place.

This a great indoor and outdoor venue. Beautiful outdoor gardens for all ages to enjoy. There are a number of themed gardens including a sensory and cottage garden as well as bandstand and pavillion with some beautiful tropical and local birds as well as peacocks roaming free. There are also a number of indoor gardens including a tropical house and arrid house amongst many. The outdoor gardens are great for taking picnics or sunbathing as the lawns are beautifully manicured and as there are only guide dogs allowed you are not likely to get a wet face from some unrully pooch while getting some shut eye. There is also a childrens garden and a fabulous play area which my kids love. Swings, Slide (being repaired at mo) roundabout and beautiful wooden climbing equipment. The kids never want to leave! The indoor gardens are fascinating and very well maintained as well as educational. There is also a gallery usually displaying local artists which gets changed every season. The shop is reasonably priced and great for informative books about gardening and all things horticultural. There is also a restaurant which is fairly expensive and bland but does do great hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles. They do lots of events for all to attend and there is a discount for members. Entry is free for members but anyone can roll up and go in. They also have a study centre which does childrens activities for kids as well as adults. The teddy bears picnic is great in the summer. You can also have xmas parties or other events here as they have some beautiful confrence and events rooms for hire and the gardens are a great back drop for photos for eg weddings etc. Parking is easier in the cooler months but we use it all year round and love it. All in all a great day out for everyone i would thoroughly recomend it.

If you live in the local area, it is well worth getting a season ticket/family pass for the year at the Botanics, as it works out much cheaper than individuakl day tickets, that can be a bit pricey. But if you make the day out of it, there's plenty to do. There is an indoor botanics area as well as the expanse of outdoor beauty around the whole centre. Monkeys and budgees are there too, and you can spend hours walking around, with plenty to see in individual glass houses.
There's a great adventure play area to keep the kids occupied, and the gardens are always immaculate, maintainance really is first class, closely clipped lawns and beatifully nutured plants.
The cafe serves a great (but slightly pricey) lunch, and theres even a gift shop to top the day off!
Great day out for all ages, and well worth visiting!

I was truely impressed by the diversity of plants at the Glasshouses and Botanical Gardens. There are tropical, subtropical, mediterranean and arid houses. It makes for a wonderful indoor walk with plenty of benches and most importantly plants. For botany-lovers or lovers the gardens are one of Birmingham's best features.

Birmingham botanical Garden & Glasshouse keep the finest collection of plants in Midlands. Four glasshouses contain a wide range of exotic and economic flora. You can explore the aviaries, gallery , gift shop, plant centre, adventure playground and a children’s discovery garden. I believe this is a good chance to be close to the nature!

What a truly glorious Oasis in the heart of the city. When the forecast is good, pack up the family and take them here. There's acre upon acre of beautiful gardens. Glasshouses choc full of plants and trees. A wonderful old style bandstand stands proud on the main lawn. The children will love the play area. Fantastic place to take a picnic basket full of goodies.
Finally don't forget to check out the Gallery, with its changing exhibits... you may even leave with a masterpiece!

This is a very nice place to visit and see a variety of wildlife including different species of plants and animals. It's also a good place to go for a photo shoot after a wedding as the beautiful flowers in the gardens make a lovely back drop for any picture. However, like any park, you visit risks being ruined if the great Bristish weather suddenly changes for the worse, other than that, its a great place to go especially for fresh air for people who live in the crowded inner city.
