4 reviews of Rowhill Grange Hotel in English
I was recently at a wedding at Rowhill Grange and the whole day was magic.
The grounds and building complimented the wedding theme beautifully, and the space was flexible enough to hold both the reception and wedding in one area with some transformations behind the scenes.
I did notice that the staff were a bit pushed, and perhaps not overly experienced, but were very polite, attentive and responsive.
I know my friends were more than happy with how the day went, and I know most of the guests were taken aback by the beauty of the spot.
Add to that a gift voucher for the spa to all the wedding guests from the hotel, and really there was nothing left wanting.
Overpriced, poor service, pretentious and patronising.
This hotel has wonderful 4facilities but has a distinctly 2 attitude. The Truffles restaurant is pretentious and way over priced. The wine list is limited, expensive and not well matched to the food.
The room was good, the shower exceptional (almost as good as the RAC Club which has the best shower in the world). My room did however suffer with noise from the kitchens and the Air Con. Staff were defensive and unresponsive. Service slow, and clear signs of cost cutting going on.
Staff also made the cardinal sin of addressing me by my first name on booking. Now come on in a 4* hotel you do expect respect for traditional standards!
Shame - but my advise avoid this hotel. Much better elsewhere with much better value for money.

My Fiance took me there for a birtdhay present, where we got to stay in the hotel and use the Spa facilities. This place is absolutely lovely. The rooms are comfortable and the Spa is gorgeous!
I do think, however, that it is expensive and although the food was nice, it wasn’t exceptional for what you would expect for the money.

Adding to the prior review, I can add something on the restaurant. Unfortunately it tries far too hard to be an upmarket, sophisticated dining experience. Aspiring to be something like that you might find in Central London, the dishes are over fancy, over drizzled & over coulis-ed. The food's not great either. Everything comes on modern plates with constructions & towers. They should've stuck to something more in character with the rest of the hotel - relaxed, traditional & informal. Also, beware - i went on a weekend and they were hosting a wedding reception. Unfortunately the hotel's not that big (nor the car park) so it did impact somewhat on the visit.
