An excellent little pub- this can get a bit crowded but if you get there early enough to grab a table it usually isn’t a problem.

The estoric decoration (particularly the display case containing a stuffed snake attacking a stuffed mongoose) is the most immediately notable thing, but the staff are always friendly & serve a good pint of Guinness. They’ve recently added a menu, with (pretty good) pizzas supplied from a restaurant next door.

The only downside is squeezing through the throng of people to get to the toilets when it gets busy, but you could always take the opportunity to make some new friends.

I want to call this place a sailor’s pub, but I’m not sure why. It just has that feel to it. Slap bang in the middle of Clapham old town, opposite it’s nemesis, the sun, the Prince of Wales does good pub experience and no mistake.

With a definite quirky personality and a few wooden tables outside on the pavement, it’s a great place for a quiet beer with a few mates, better in the winter months, but a nice alternative for the summer.

One of this pubs that includes atmosphere by hanging an extraordinary range of tat from the ceiling, the Prince of Wales is a busy little boozer that`s neither too down-market nor too pretentious.

Just how many pubs sport a buffalo`s head on the wall? On our last visit we spotted some new ales on hand pumps, though the Hoegaarden always proves too strong a pull in the summer, and the Guinness in winter so the ale remains untried.

Even if the toilets are a bit mining, this is by no means the worst pub in this neck of the woods, and is ideal for a quit natter.

There`s also some outside seating where you can watch Clapham and the odd omnibus do their stuff.

A rare find of individuality in the parish of Clapham. A little gloomy in the inside maybe but comfortable enough with Harweys on the tap which is always a winner.

in the Summer you can sit outside. Some light meals are being served.

Nice old fashioned type of pub although slightly clicky

The Prince of Wales in Clapham Old town is a cool little popular pub/drinking hole. It was so popular on Saturday night with so many people in it, it was like 100degrees in there and going to sit outside on the big tables out the front was a welcome relief!
Its decor is quaint and quirky, its looks like someone has liked car boot sales over the last 20 years and has hung everything they brought from the ceiling.
A good crowd in there, more your late 20's early 30's and staropramen on draught, it would have been a 5 star if it wasn't so hot!

First I was like, why does that building have 'POW' written all over it in blue luminous letters, and where is the entrance to the Prince of Wales? Anyway, once my confusion cleared up I was very happy about what I found inside. There's an incredible amount and variety of bric-a-brac hanging from the ceiling and on tables and window-sills, including an inflatable Spiderman in a hammock. It makes for a cool and quirky atmosphere. And with Harveys bitter as the guest ale you can't go wrong really. It's cheap too, for Clapham. It's small and will get busy, so it's best to come here early.
