An excellent little pub- this can get a bit crowded but if you get there early enough to grab a table it usually isn’t a problem.
The estoric decoration (particularly the display case containing a stuffed snake attacking a stuffed mongoose) is the most immediately notable thing, but the staff are always friendly & serve a good pint of Guinness. They’ve recently added a menu, with (pretty good) pizzas supplied from a restaurant next door.
The only downside is squeezing through the throng of people to get to the toilets when it gets busy, but you could always take the opportunity to make some new friends.

I want to call this place a sailor’s pub, but I’m not sure why. It just has that feel to it. Slap bang in the middle of Clapham old town, opposite it’s nemesis, the sun, the Prince of Wales does good pub experience and no mistake.
With a definite quirky personality and a few wooden tables outside on the pavement, it’s a great place for a quiet beer with a few mates, better in the winter months, but a nice alternative for the summer.
