Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 6 January 2012

I got a micro-dermal done on my chest here, I should of been advised to get it on my collar bones as the spongy part in the middle of your chest almost always rejects, however they happily over-charged me and inserted the micro-dermal.

They took about 20 minutes doing it, during which time i was panicking i’m certain there was complications which weren’t explained to me. It rejected about three weeks later, i then stupidly paid another fourty pounds to get it done because I had an ugly scar .

Again they didn’t advise me not to and pierced me on my scar tissue saying it was fine (which i have since been told was stupid and unprofessional by another piercer.)

Seems their main concern is money and they’re just all too happy to take it.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 16 July 2011

have been tattooed here twice by Richard, I had booked over the phone, and was greeted warmly when I arrived for my appointment by the beautiful french lady owner. I was offered refreshments, which they went out and purchased for me. my tattoos are incredible, I sat for 6 and then 7 hrs resulting in an amazing half sleeve, Richard is very thorough and I am booked in again in September for further work. I am very surprised to read a lot of the reviews on here slagging the place, however I can only comment on my own experience, which was positive and also what I witnessed of others being tattooed there same time as me who also where treated well and where getting good tattoos.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 1 July 2011

After reading alot of reviews on this site i was very prepared when i walked to eclipse for my tattoo, I was getting a tattoo repaired by Richard so didnt know what to expect on any level. I must say however my experience was very different to most others on here, i was made to feel very welcome and my artist was incredible, professional and was the definition of "get on with the job" he worked on my tattoos for 7 hours 15 mins with only a 10 minute break and rather than finishing at 6 worked till nearly 7. all the staff were very complimentary of my work, walked to the shops to get me coffee during my tattoo and there is nothing i would change about my day there. I think to be honest if you go to the shope realistically knowing what you want and dont waste time you tend not to get a bad reaction, however there was no sign of the "fat guy" mentioned on the front counter. The ameican guy mentioned seemed very polite the whole time i was there and even throughout a difficult moment with a customer which sounded like it may turn into a dispute he was very calm and patient and the customer was happy. So from my experience yesterday i would say, if the stories are true that they have turned things around and i will definately be going back again. Richard is truly an incredible artist and gentle man.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 5 May 2011

Have been here twice.
On the first occasion a friend of mine went to get a piercing. Despite the EXTREMELY RUDE service we recieved from some fat ugly guy at the counter, she still wanted to get it done from there cos someone had told her to.
They ended up not doing her piercing exactly where she had told them to - it was too much to the left. she's since taken it out.

I went there again recently just to enquire about a tattoo thinking their tattoo artists might be better but what greeted by the same rude ugly fat guy at the counter who did not even move his head up to serve me. When I asked him if he was free he replied 'no' in a very aggressive manner. It even caused one of the other tattoo artists working there to look at him incredulously. I told them I'd be going somewhere else in that case and left.

I highly reccommend going here if you enjoy being treated like scum by someone you would think twice about offering spare change to.

soulio ps there's better parlours you can go to in camden - one's right around the corner :)

hellonewshoes I got my navel peirced last november and i called up just now because it is infected and i wanted some advice on how to clean it. the person on the phone was unbelievebly rude to me, shouting 'THATS NOT WHAT WE TOLD YOU TO DO' when i explained i used table salt as oposed to sea salt. he then kept interuptng me as i was trying to explain my situation and then rudely and brashly said 'if you want to come here right now we can have a look mayeb but calling isnt gonna do anything ok' . this guy didnt even let me explain my situation!! he just kept interupting and being extremely rude, and then , while i was mid sentance, HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! talk about customer service..

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 4 March 2011

So far I have had 3 piercings from this shop and have been in there many times for just a look around.
1 x Eyebrow.
1 x Medusa.
1 x Lower lip.

Firstly, they are a lot cheaper than most of the piercing shops in my local area of North London, which can be up to 35 pound per piercing and 10 pound per jewelery piece which is the ONLY reason I got 3 piercings from here. I am a student and low on cash at the best of times.

> The eyebrow rejected within a few weeks. > The medusa bar was too short. > The lower lip was pierced at a different angle to my previous lower lip piercing which makes my two lower lip piercings look uneven.

All but two members of staff I have come into contact with (one was an American man who I have only seen there once behind the counter) are disgustingly rude, extremely patronising and I would quite frankly like to show them a mirror so they can observe what a stuck-up bunch of self-righteous pigs they are.
Particularly the man behind the desk and a male piercer with tattoo's all over his face.

Both staff members had literally NO interpersonal skills whatsoever, and even became patronising towards me when I asked for advice about my extremely disfigured lower lip piercing.

The said piercing had become very swollen, roughly twice it's normal size, resulting in the back of the incorrectly sized bar tearing my inside lip, which suddenly healed over the back of the bar. When I tried to explain my problem to the man at the desk, he dismissed this fact, became extremely patronising and would not help or give me advice at all.

I ended up buying a longer bar from a different shop, and having to gauge my inner lip open with a pin to free the healed over piercing.
Thanks a lot, you clueless receptionist mess of has-been anal fluid.

The English male piercer with tattoos all over his face was easily the rudest person I have ever been unfortunate enough to come across in my entire life, and I ended up telling him to "do one" after nothing but an irritated tone of voice, him PINCHING my lip even after the changed Medusa bar and constant dirty looks.

That said, there is also one nice male piercer with graying hair who was very supportive, helpful and even complimented the choice of piercings I chose to get.

After all of this hassle, I will not be setting foot in this shop again.

In all, I would not advise anyone to get piercings there. Cold Steel, just down the road, is better priced, extremely lovely members of staff and is genuinely a pleasant experience.

Good tattooist but shocking bed side manners. But too cool for school are they? I'm going elsewhere.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 12 January 2011

At first I thought it was just me but I am glad to see that other people have the same opinion about the counter staff. The 'customer service desk' is manned by an extremely rude ,quite large guy who thinks that baggy pants and baseball cap make him look cool. Laughable really. The prices are day light robbery, and the designs are not that special either.

There is another shop down the road called Evil from the Needle, the staff are very polite and attentative. Eclipse is a joke compared to them.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 10 January 2011

On the spur of the moment decision the other day while lying in bed, I decided I wanted to get a tongue piercing. Done loads of research, then decided I wanted a double centre tongue piercing. My friend wanted to get a conch and rook piercing, so off we set today (10/1/11) to get it done. Was very excited but VERY nervous. Had high hopes for Eclipse as, well, it sounded reputable.

When we arrived, we were told to come back in half an hour as they needed to get the equipment set up. That was fine but from the get go, they were offhand and lacked customer service. When we came back, I was shaking and practically hyperventilating from the fear and anticipation. They offered me no encouragement, no reassurance and not even a smile. If I wasn't with my friend, I would have been even more scared than I already was. I was disappointed about this, as I think customer service is VERY important and it's not like I wasn't making an effort to be friendly. Anyway, that's not the worst part.

When it was time for me to get my tongue pierced, I went through as instructed. I was extremely nervous and understandably scared. When it came down to it, my piercer told me not to move my arms and to stick my tongue out as far as I could. I said okay and sat on my hands to keep them still. However, although I wanted more than anything to put a brave face on and handle it, I was scared as hell. He came at me with the needle and my hands automatically went up. Didn't touch him or me but they moved. He sighed loudly and told me off, effectively. This happened several times and each time he was very very rude to me. I understand being frustrated but to get angry at a customer?! I was trying my best! At one point, his rudeness brought me close to tears and I had to try very hard not to cry. It made the whole unpleasant experience even more unpleasant and to tell the truth, I'm disappointed because I expected better. On a positive note, however, the the piercing looks gorgeous and the price was very very good. £30 for each piercing including the bar change. However, for my next piercings, I won't be returning. The customer service, or lack of it, was just too disappointing.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 9 January 2011

I also had read good reviews about this place and went there to get my third tattoo. The staff at the desk were rude and quite patronising to me, not believing my age even when producing my drivers licence.

The artist that did my tattoo, however, was completely different. He was amazing and very pleasant through out the entire thing.

I think I would go back there just because the actually tattooists are nice and very good at what they do, the tattoo I got there is my favourite. So I would just ignore the desk staff as they do not represent the amazing work the artists do :)

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 7 December 2010

The guy in the front desk was too rude, I guess we're not cool enough to expect proper behaviour as customers, right?
However, I was stupid enough to ignore him and proceeded with piercing my ear.
The prices were ridiculous and i looked at myself in the mirror to find out that the earring was twice the size of the one i wanted (if it's too small say it before).
It's been three months of cleaning it at least 3 times a day - it still looks hideous. Check the area that your customer wants to get pierced. Amateur.

If I really wanted another piercing and that was the only place in London, I'd rather do it myself.

I went there to have my cartilage pierced. I was really surprised, everybody was really nice especially the girl that pierced me, she explained me everything and even speak in french to me (as I am french and irish) to secure me.

I did not heart at all and it stills ok after few days. And it is so cheap compare to france where I did another one.

I will definitly go back there for another piercing.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 15 September 2010

Probably one of the most highly rated tattoo studios in London - with prices to match. To be honest the designs that I've seen in there as no better than anything produced at Flamin' 8 10 minutes walk up the road and nowhere near as pricey.

When you walk in it's a long walk to the front desk so it can feel a bit intimidating going in there unless you are covered in head to foot in tatts (which I'm not).

Staff are bit a too cool to help you which can be annoying as I really love it when there is someone to talk through your designs with and really help you define your ideas a bit more.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 31 March 2010 (updated on 10 June 2010)

Personally I don't think you should get a tattoo at any studio that has to flyer it's business. The main pull of Eclipse is that it is near the station and therefore looking to drag in punters getting impulse tattoos or confused European tourists looking to mark their trip to London.

Hence, though it may look fancy the place is overpriced and though the artists are OK the prices by no means match their skills. The lady on reception is a complete tool with no social skills and too many pet dogs running round and the same sentiment of being a rude plum applies to most of the staff. Had they seen how many tattoos I had up my arms I don't think they would have been quite so patronising.

To conclude...complete charlatans.

EDIT

The owner very charmingly can't take a bad review and has decided to go as far as sending me a couple of snarky messages on here. More reason to avoid them, no?

Guys if you really want to go somewhere with an owner that leaves comments like...

"U do like ur food dont ya."

"At least i don't look as ugly as you :)"

"the ugly should be nice.... Bitter about life :)"

...over one review? Really?

Congratulations for showing yourself up you total psycho.

soulio 'The ugly should be nice'? Sounds like that human bin bag needs to take his own advice lol

I went here in an emergency when my belly button ring fell out before it had fully healed, and had started to close up. They were really helpful and managed to sort of re-pierce it and open it up again - they charged me £10, which was to buy the piece of jewellery they used to do this.

I was incredibly grateful! These people are skilled professionals who really know what they're doing and are popular and successful enough not to need to overcharge! I would recommend them to anyone.

Review of Eclipse Tattoo and Piercing Studio from 30 October 2009

I had my cartilage pierced for the second time here. I was actually really surprised at how clean it was; I was kind of afraid it would be really seedy or something XD but it was nice. The guy who pierced my ear was really friendly, though the people on the counter outside less so and it took no time at all. It's also healed really well and looks awesome now so completely satisfied :) They did spend ages trying to work out if they thought i was old enough though. But my passport is old and so yeah I look a bit different in the picture.
It was also cheaper than my first cartilage (£15 for a ring and £20 for a bar) so, if it wasn;t for the fact it cost me another £20 to get up there, I'd definately go again :)

Had a brilliant tattoo done here. Cannot fault the artistry but the person on the front desk did not understand me and when i explained to them again was quite rude! If you looking for a Brilliant bit of body art this is a great place to go and the tattoists are very nice and make the visit worth while, But wouldnt always vouch on brilliant customer service from the front desk.
