Again, like St James’s Park…...Absolutely gorgeous! used to visit here also as a child and i have some great memories. I haven’t visited the park in the past year as i moved away last July back to my roots of Canterbury, the park was still in a beautiful condition after years and years of looking after….well done those park keepers. Although the park is shut of a night, it is a lovely walk up past the observatory on a summers evening. Lovely for picnics and watching the cricket when they play there. Beautiful sunsets to be seen there up on the hills. Definately a favourite of mine if visiting towards London. Great family day out.

My last review disappeared! Oh no! First time it’s happened!
OK guys and gals here we go again with another review from filimbo… he wants to be a mouse. No, he wants to review Greenwich park sir jimmy, as it is the main shall we say yes indeed reason as it were for visiting greenwich thankyou your royal majesty. My first experience of the park was it trying to kill me as i sweated up the incline to the high on a hill with a lonely goatherd observatory. Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay etc. Happily i defeated it (this time) but I’m sure the grassy swine has an ace up its sleeve (next time). Or at least a king in its cuff (or a diamond in the rough hi thankyew). Nice views of the naval buildings and canary wharf.
Round the observatory is a lovely little astronomer’s garden, then why not have a picnic in the haymeadow? Sadly i couldn’t see deer. That is a shame dear, it looked lovely. No dear, I couldn’t see deer. I heard you the first time dear. and so on and so on

When the sun is shining Greenwich Park is where its at! Plenty of space, a clean green haven. With the observatory in the park and little cafes and ice-cream shops dotted around the outskirts of the park it feels like you are on your summer holidays.

Greenwich Park is absolutely fantastic, Although I live about 30 minutes away (walking) it’s still worth the walk once a week. There is the Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum, deer (if you can find them - hint: head for the duck-pond),a rose garden, a flower garden, oh, and loads and loads and loads of open space, trees, benches and other parky stuff.
The benches are in a relatively good state of repair, all paths are well-maintained, and there is abple car-parking. Great for cycling (there are ccle lanes, and bike racks), and the cafe is open int he summer months (May-October), providing reasonably-priced refreshments. Historic Greenwich, the Thames, and the village of Blackheath are all withing in strolling (or cycling) distance. In my opinion, the best time to visit is spring (for the millions of daffodils lining the main drive), or on a summer’s evening. Whatever the time of day of year, there are magnificent views of London from the top of the hill. Enjoy…

i used to live in greenwich as said it is a fantastic park and the scenery on the right days can be breath taking because you dont get that sort of view in most other areas of london.
the meridian time line crosses greenwich the flower gardens near the deer are lovely great place to chill out on a stressful day its brilliant during the summer on a sunday afternoon just to lay down in the sun an take your time.
the observatory is great nice little cafe just off the back of it and the more quieter areas for those who dont want children kicking footballs round them lol is in the far corner just off blackheath again another place you go to chill out.
though my favourite time to go to greenwich park is just after its snowed its beautiful fantastic, and to add to the convenience of it all greenwich village is right at the bottom of greenwich park plenty of places to eat all different kinds of food an cultures and greenwich market is again very interesting place to go word of warning though greewich villageas lovely as it is can be very pricey when shopping eating and drinking!

Greenwich is the oldest enclosed Royal Park and home to a small herd of fallow and red deer. Situated on top of a hill, I enjoyed sweeping views across the River Thames to St Paul’s Cathedral and beyond.Greenwich Park has several historic buildings nearby including the Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum and the Queen’s House.
