Imbiss Habibi, Neustadt-Süd, Cologne

Cheap and cheerful kebab shop that's in the centre of all the action come Karneval time! Somehow we managed to blag a table and enjoyed delicious chicken schwama which reminded me of Maroosh in off Gloucester Road in South Ken, although with not quite a much garlic sauce and a bit more salad, if you're familiar with said establishment. For those not on a culinary voyage of discovery around all the world's kebab shops, that's means it's good! Minus one star for charging 0.50c to use the toilet even for patrons, although if you'd seen the state of everyone, you could really understand. Maz of Caspian's solution to this problem (which is all year round in Rusholme) - pretend the toilet is always broken!

Habibi is a very nice and cozy Iraqi place with a few tables to sit down.

I love to drink the free cinnamon tea while waiting for my order to be ready.

Falafel and kebab sandwiches to take away are pretty good but the dishes are even better. Habibi offfers various delicious specialties from the middle east at very fair prices.

Definitely the best place to eat on the Zülpicher strasse.
